Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 27, 2017 9:39 am As per title, we are putting a serious consideration for this and comparing with the Clarendon tender that we already have, the Bronte 28. Obviously a different design, but we do like the living/theatre space separation at the front and large kitchen layout overlooking the alfresco. I'm keen to know how your tender/build process was/currently is (if ongoing), and general feedback with your experience. The Orange Carpet 2017 promo is a nice icing on the cake too. We almost went with the Huntley 30, we loved everything about it except how narrow the main living/dining space is. I was really concerned about being able to fit in furniture into the living space and still have access to the sliding doors. We wanted to make the 2 front living rooms into one big theatre space. If there had been the orange carpet promo at the time that probably would have tipped us over and we would have asked them to quote making the living space about 1m wider. I've not seen any other companies offer promos as good as the orange carpet one, especially with the home theatre inclusions this time round. Ironically the Bronte 28 was our 3rd choice, we loved everything about the display but the main living/kitchen space and master were just a little smaller than we wanted. We are stealing the entire internal colour scheme for our house though!!! We ended up opting for Wisdom's Aspiration 31 which has a smaller front living space, but it much wider at the back. The tender came in at the right price for us so we never tendered with Rawson in the end. Who's building the Rawson Huntley 30? 3Feb 27, 2017 1:26 pm Thanks for your input! And funny how you looked at the Bronte 28 too. That was a lovely display home I agree. I think with the Huntley, we also thought maybe if we could extend the alfresco and family room 1.5m longer it would be more spacious. I thought the alfresco wasn't that big at the display home. I also thought about making the theatre room one big room too, or downsize the living room since that would be my home office so I get a bigger theatre room. That orange carpet promo is amazing, but the bottom line is the design is the priority. Both designs are really good and entertaining would be awesome on either house design. Re: Who's building the Rawson Huntley 30? 4Feb 28, 2017 1:53 pm We went with the Huntley 30 and opted to push back the wall seperating the two front lounges Creating a theatre and a front study room. In retrospect we should have priced having the alfresco and front living extended, but are satisfied with our choice atm Re: Who's building the Rawson Huntley 30? 5Feb 28, 2017 2:09 pm Thanks alisonandrew, we have the same idea. Study at front but make it smaller for the bigger theatre room. We are getting a quote to extend the back family and alfresco, in turn a longer stacker door option. See how it goes. Have you finished building? Just started the Build process for Chifley 42 with Rawson homes, will keep you all posted with the Build progress. 0 3392 I do enjoy the drama:-D In his latest two videos he has started bringing security guards to site, I am waiting for the punch on to begin lol 6 46338 |
