Browse Forums Building A New House Re: I know you love photos... 42Apr 30, 2008 9:51 am First_Timer_Ray We had our walk-through/inspection yesterday. It took just over 2 hours (about 300 red dots) and 4 pages of notes of things to be rectified. Most of the issues were scratches/scuffs on the walls and architraves. We picked up a few hairline cracks in the ceiling, and some grout issues (small pieces missing), as well as a leaking tap and a scratched shower screen. The glass splashback is still holding us up, and if it can be installed by the end of this week we may (*insert highly unlikely*) have hand over on the 9th May - next Friday, but it looks like at this stage we will have handover on the 16th May, and either way our shifting date will be the 17th! Bring on the count down! Ray Hi Ray, I hope you get everything fixed soon so you can move in soon Are you building with M3tricon? I noticed that you are located in the western suburbs, we were building in point cook and as we have been told M uses local builders, if they did a bad job for a client in that area, it is possible that we will have the same builder and have the same quality of work. That's a worry Is your builder late on handing over to you due to the number of issues that they have to fix before you move in? Are you being compensated if they are late? Good Luck and i'll keep my fingers crossed for you Re: I know you love photos... 45Apr 30, 2008 1:31 pm Fantastic News Ray!!!::

Re: I know you love photos... 49Apr 30, 2008 2:26 pm Sorry, it wasn't litterally 300 red dots, it just seemed like that. It may have been close to 100 though.
Dreamhome - there was a member on here a while ago (Cat?) who built in Pt Cook and had a few issues. We are in Werribee and had a different Site Manager, but he is leaving after 9 years next Friday and moving to a smaller building company with less stress (can't blame him really). We are very happy with the quality of the home, there have just been delays along the way that means that as of Monday they have gone over their contract of 242 days to build. Every delay adds up - one week here, 2 weeks there... but you never know, yours may go without any hold ups - I hope so for your sake! Ray. Second Time 'Round Re: I know you love photos... 50May 01, 2008 8:57 pm Hi Ray,
Congrats, your home is looking great. I love the transculcent doors...can I ask you which make they are? Re: I know you love photos... 51May 03, 2008 9:00 pm The internal glass doors are Corinthian Windsor 21 doors with translucent glass.
My sister told me today she is contemplating stealing them - shame her door frames aren't the higher ones like ours Ray. Second Time 'Round I had an old shower unit that broke on me and when I took it off, there were only 2 water pipes, instead of the normal 2 water pipes and a shower head pipe.
