Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 12, 2012 2:15 pm Our roof is currently under construction. The frames have been done, and eaves have been put on. Waiting for electrical, gas and plumbing to be installed before the roof will be completed. Question, we got a lot of rain overnight, and the eaves are now soaking wet. We are a bit concerned about this. Obviously they will dry, but will the fact they have gotten wet cause any problems? We are also expecting more rain, so they will get even more wet and remain wet for a while until the rain clears up completely. Also, do eaves get painted? Building the Riva by Dale Alcock Homes. Just make sure they are dry before painting. Garage hasn't been done, and I am unsure about the alfresco. Porch has been done as have the eaves around the house. Building the Riva by Dale Alcock Homes. As long as it drys before it's painted, you will have nothing to worry about. Hardiflex is very weather resistant. Plasterboard is different. This goes on after your roof cover is complete, the and usually after the float render is finished. All your ceilings inside your house, alfresco and garage will be plasterboard. Plasterboard cannot get wet like hardiflex can, hense the reason why they wait until this point in construction. Also depending on what state you are in, you may have insulation to all plasterboard ceilings. In WA, insulation is placed on all plasterboard ceilings, not just for insulation, but also to stop any water from getting to the plasterboard. When plasterboard gets wet, it swells, and bubbles. Sorry for the novel, and hope this answers your questions. 2 1 6625 Firstly the ableflex that has been installed needs (manufactures specification) a sealant cap over the top, preventing water draining down between the slab and the… 3 7776 |
