Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building the Atlantique Mk2 with Carlisle Homes 21Feb 11, 2013 9:18 pm Voni74, WOWZERS! At the end of this month?? That's fantastic!! Feb is a short month too lol!! How funny that we were both considering the same locations ie bacchus/Plumpton it sounds just perfect for you and I'm so pleased to hear you landed a fantastic piece of land! I am a bit jealous, maybe we can trade off every year so we can enjoy both areas!!! Lol! I'm glad that your experience so far with Carlisle is going well they've been very helpful to me too. It's such an important thing to feel like you're in capable hands, especially with a purchase this big! So agree about the designs I also think henley has lovely designs. It's funny everyone values different things in a layout the Atlantique mk2 looks amazing! Yes I understand more now regarding the inclusions. Especially when comparing their t range o their affinity lines. There really is a difference. HD Re: Building the Atlantique Mk2 with Carlisle Homes 22Feb 11, 2013 11:35 pm LOL, a house trade off....that's hilarious! Can you imagine, we may start a new trend LOL. Well it's just kind of hit us that our build may be starting soon,,, and we have to get our current house in order to sell it as soon as the other one is ready to move into!! We've begun painting and de-cluttering and have some minor (hopefully value boosting) improvements to do here, but time may be against us I fear. But on Saturday we decided to have a day off and headed down to Dandenong South display center to refresh our memories about what our house will hopefully look like. We did have a display center closer to us here in Point Cook, but I don't think it's there anymore. Anyway, I have to say that I didn't much care for the way they had the house decorated and kept asking my husband if he was sure that it was the same size house as ours! We eventually figured out that it was the dark furniture and the amount of furniture that they have in the house that makes it look smaller and none to homely. The house was a slight disappointment but the weather was nice so the kids enjoyed the day out. So true about the design layout. I didn't want a rumpus room and a theatre room to be honest, but we decided on the Atlantique which has both because we will use the theatre room as a kids play room for now and hopefully as a teenage retreat when their older. I know we checked out Henley as well, their designs were quite nice too. I'm sure whichever you choose will be just perfect for your needs, have you got your eye on any at the moment? AlI can say about inclusions is....make sure you have money in contingency for your extras because it blew my mind how much stuff is not standard inclusions or what things are "upgrades". You have to be very disciplined not to go over the top with upgrades or it can do your head in and be very costly. Well that was my experience anyway. Willow2012 how is your house coming along? do you have any pics of it yet, I'd love to see it.. voni74 building Atlantique MK2 with Carlisle Homes Contract signed 05/12/12 Site cut 19/03/13 Slab pour 10/04/13 Frame 22/04/13 Lock-up 14/05/13 Re: Building the Atlantique Mk2 with Carlisle Homes 23Feb 12, 2013 9:40 am Wow voni74, the end of Feb isn't far away at all!! You must be so excited!! We have a similar size block to you and love it Our house is nearly 1/2 bricked and l think they are starting to plaster today We had a few cars at our site this morning so l am sure lots more is being done today It is so hard doing colours without seeing everything together, but so far we are really happy with the outside colours We had our Pre plaster inspection with New Home Inspections on Thursday last week. l read on here that they were great and worth every cent and l have to say l agree completely. He is friendly and explains everything Our SS was onsite and fixed most of the smaller things the same day which was great. Just waiting to hear back about the last couple of things. Re: Building the Atlantique Mk2 with Carlisle Homes 24Feb 12, 2013 10:12 am Hey Willow2012 Well my CLE says end of Feb, but it may be early March too... I am sooo exited it ridiculous! LOL. Bricks and plaster...how wonderful...it won't be long and you'll be moving in What color choices did you make for your façade? In fact which façade did you choose? New Home Inspections, I will have to keep them in mind if you're happy with them. My cousin used a company called Darbecca and she was happy with him too. I think the private inspections are a great idea. It's better to get things fixed as you go I think. voni74 building Atlantique MK2 with Carlisle Homes Contract signed 05/12/12 Site cut 19/03/13 Slab pour 10/04/13 Frame 22/04/13 Lock-up 14/05/13 Re: Building the Atlantique Mk2 with Carlisle Homes 25Feb 12, 2013 1:49 pm l will have to look at our paperwork to find out the actually names, but we went with grey tones for the facade. We picked Waterview for our facade What about you? Re: Building the Atlantique Mk2 with Carlisle Homes 26Feb 12, 2013 7:58 pm I just checked out the waterview façade, it's really nice, very similar to ours actually. We chose the Paramount façade. We went with Chocolate and creams for our colors. I too will have to look at the paperwork for the exact color names LOL! We signed everything so long ago I can't remember half of it. voni74 building Atlantique MK2 with Carlisle Homes Contract signed 05/12/12 Site cut 19/03/13 Slab pour 10/04/13 Frame 22/04/13 Lock-up 14/05/13 Re: Building the Atlantique Mk2 with Carlisle Homes 27Feb 28, 2013 10:41 am So our house has been plastered and the skirting boards are being done now. l spoke with our SS, Jason yesterday and we will hopefully have painters in next week and a few other things being done Our kitchen has been delivered, and we are really happy with the colour. We have been so nervous about our colours because it is so hard to imagine everything together, but so far so good They have the last couple of things to fix up from our pre-plaster inspection but our SS said they are going to try and fix them next week. So far we have been really happy with everyone we have dealt with from Carlisle Our CLE gets back to be quickly and our SS has been really good. We haven't finished the build yet but so far we are glad we built with them. l have packed nearly everything ready to move already, l know we still have a while to go but l am just a little excited l have left the kids toys out, thought l better leave them something to play with Re: Building the Atlantique Mk2 with Carlisle Homes 28Feb 28, 2013 9:16 pm Glad to hear things are going well. We are three and a bit weeks from PCI and I don't have a bad thing to say about Carlisle. It's been a great experience for us all the way through. Hope it keeps trucking on well for you! You will be in your house before you know it If our house sticks to roughly the same time frame as your build we should hopefully be in by the end of April Re: Building the Atlantique Mk2 with Carlisle Homes 32Mar 27, 2013 1:49 pm So our house is coming alond very nicely!! Not long now until our PCI Unfortunately our SS is going on holidays soon so we will have another SS until he gets back Our SS has been great through our whole build so we can't help but wish his holidays started after our handover We have our tiles getting done very soon and our garage door getting installed. The house is really coming along nicely and so far l love the colours we picked!! l am only worried about our bench top colour... it was the only thing my husband picked for inside the house because he absolutely loved the colour, but now l don't know if it will go with everything else. Just have to wait and see l guess!! Re: Building the Atlantique Mk2 with Carlisle Homes 33Mar 28, 2013 8:25 pm Congrats on your house update Willow2012, it sounds fantastic... and oh so exciting. What colors did you chose for your kitchen and bench top? Have you taken any photos? I'd love to see how your house is coming along.... We have had our site cut last week and yesterday the drains were put in and we have a meter box. So hopefully, all going well we should have the slab pour next Wednesday. I got a phone call from our SS today and he sounds really nice, so I have my fingers crossed that we don't run into too many bumps along the way. voni74 voni74 building Atlantique MK2 with Carlisle Homes Contract signed 05/12/12 Site cut 19/03/13 Slab pour 10/04/13 Frame 22/04/13 Lock-up 14/05/13 Re: Building the Atlantique Mk2 with Carlisle Homes 34Mar 29, 2013 8:49 am willow2012 So our house is coming alond very nicely!! HD Re: Building the Atlantique Mk2 with Carlisle Homes 35May 08, 2013 11:34 am On Good Friday we had our house broken into and our kitchen cabinets stolen We have finally had the kitchen reintstalled and hopefully the next couple of weeks things will keep moving again! Time seems to be dragging now as we felt like we were so close before the cabinets were taken!!! Our site supervisor said he has organised quiet a few things to be done this week and next and we are meant to be getting our PCI date very shortly How is your house going Voni74? LittleWing I am having trouble working out how to upload pictures Re: Building the Atlantique Mk2 with Carlisle Homes 36May 08, 2013 12:07 pm Hi Willow2012 That's terrible that your cabinets got stolen... how disappointing. Horrible people to do that. I am, however, glad that you have them back in again, hopefully things can get moving for you again. What does PCI stand for? Sorry about my ignorance LOL. Our house is moving along really fast. We have a roof and our bricks are due to be finished by next Monday. Our kitchen is to be installed on the 16th of this month apparently. But dates come and go as you know. We are really excited now, but we are still doing our current house up for sale so we don't mind if they slow down a little LOL. I'll keep in touch as things progress. I also have no idea how to upload photos, if someone can tell me how too I'd appreciate it. voni74 building Atlantique MK2 with Carlisle Homes Contract signed 05/12/12 Site cut 19/03/13 Slab pour 10/04/13 Frame 22/04/13 Lock-up 14/05/13 Re: Building the Atlantique Mk2 with Carlisle Homes 37May 08, 2013 12:57 pm Willow, that's no good at all! How wonderfully exciting! I hope everything continues to go smoothly for you and you'll be in your new house sooner than you know. We now have completed plaster, skirts and arcs. We also have internal doors and ducted vac points are installed. Painting is meant to start tomorrow and our kitchen (which was meant to be delivered last week, but wasn't due to some ordering mix-up) is meant to be going in tomorrow also,,,,but we shall see I guess. I am so deliriously happy about how fast the new house is coming along, but still renovating this house so I guess the feeling is a tad bitter-sweet! voni74 building Atlantique MK2 with Carlisle Homes Contract signed 05/12/12 Site cut 19/03/13 Slab pour 10/04/13 Frame 22/04/13 Lock-up 14/05/13 Hi JeenB, Our experience has been really bad we are still waiting on them to complete the build.
