Homes Adelaide - Update: 90% 181Jun 03, 2013 7:44 pm I'd be keen to see the quality too! we're eventually going to repaint some sections of the house if not all of it (not happy with the colour but don't hate it enough to change it any time soon) plus a feature wall here or there no doubt. Homes Adelaide - Update: 90% 186Jun 09, 2013 5:43 pm So today we went and looked at our house again and played with some landscaping ideas. We noticed something slightly odd in my opinion about our hot water system. The other three houses being built around us by the same builder have their hot water system attached to their house - a cavity made on the wall for it to be mounted to. Ours didn't get that and I presume it is because it is a bigger system. The trouble I have is that they have put it on sand and then a concrete tile. With the rain we have had in the last few days, some of the sand has come out from under the tiles and the unit itself has already moved a bit. Here is a picture to give an idea. Am I seeing things or is this not meant to be done like this?? Homes Adelaide - Update: 90% 187Jun 09, 2013 5:56 pm not sure but our solar hot water tank and even the rain water tank sit on a slab of concrete i would ask the SS as if there is more rain it could move even more Re: Lyndhurst, Ste... Homes Adelaide - Update: 90% 188Jun 09, 2013 6:07 pm the cavity for the hws is for instantaneous gas hotwater, yours is a storage system Re: Lyndhurst, Ste... Homes Adelaide - Update: 90% 189Jun 09, 2013 7:44 pm just actching up with your build, its looking awesome. do you have dates of PCI or handover? wow you will be in, in no time. tammy your welcome to follow our build https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64842 Block cut - 15th February 2014 Re: Lyndhurst, Ste... Homes Adelaide - Update 90% 190Jun 10, 2013 4:02 pm Ahhh ok, that makes sense about the HWS. We had no idea haha. Thanks! No date for PCI yet - Kenny will be calling our builder tomorrow to see if we can chat to our SS about where we're up to. Today we went and spent a couple of hours moving some bricks around. We cleared a space in the foliage and piled all of the left over 'good' ones at the back of the block so we can keep them just in case we find something to use them for later down the track. In the process of doing that we discovered just how thick the weeds and grass has overgrown in our yard - it was tough! There's a weed that's turned into ground cover, essentially. Kenny pulled it back like he was stripping carpet from a room. Gross. We don't have great photos, but you can kind of see here what we did. It makes a big difference in person to how tidy the block feels, and gives a better sense of space. I think this is about the fifth time we have been there and only this time have we started to get more of an idea of what we want. It's such a good feeling going to the block and just doing some general clean up or work around the yard. We don't quite own it but it was a nice feeling that it will be ours soon and every little bit we do is an improvement for our home. Re: Lyndhurst (Sterling Homes) Adelaide - Pic update 199Jun 12, 2013 7:12 pm Waited all day to hear from our SS after being under the impression that we would hear from him in the morning some time. Kenny called at 5pm and they said it was too late to contact him but they would email and he may call us. Missed the call at 5:20pm. Not happy today. Had a bad day, went out to the block and saw heaps of activity around the estate but nobody at our place, even though we were told the cleaners would be starting this morning. Yay. I'm over it. He left a voicemail saying he was thinking ohhhh around maybe Tuesday next week for pci. Doesn't feel great, up in the air, pulled a date on a whim kind of thing. I dunno maybe I'm being melodramatic as its all getting to us but we've been doing this for the better part of two years now. I just want it to be over! I'm nervous about how long it might take to fix whatever we find at pci but we are also hoping that he uses the next week to fix up anything before then. Ahhhhh going crazy!
