Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 05, 2012 8:18 pm You should be able to rely on statutory building control to ensure that the frame for your house is free from serious defects. Unfortunately this is not so in Victoria. BC is incompetent and useless (and currently being investigated for corruption, why am I not surprised?) and builders know it and do what they want. Time again they will employ sub standard trades and supervisors, won't invest in training and building surveyors are compromised because they get work from the builders. I have been finding serious framing defects for years and it's not getting better. So it is a real risk that your house frame will have serious defects covered up. I have excellent example from today's inspection: http://www.buildingexpert.net.au/blog/h ... spections/ Foremost Building Expert in Australia, assisting with building problems/disputes, building stage inspections,pre-contract review advice for peace of mind 200 blogs http://www.buildingexpert.net.au/blog Re: House framing defects, saving on inspections? 2Dec 06, 2012 5:30 am Great article, thanks.
