Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 09, 2008 10:10 am Hello everyone,
I am hoping to call on peoples previous experiences with these questions. We have had our slab poured and on the day i met Kevin to have a look at the slab the framers were marking chalk lines on the slab. I asked them how the slab looked and they said that there is one area where the slab is too short and a couple of areas where the slab is too long. I have visited the site since and the base of the frame (plates) were in place and the extent of the problem is now apparent, i would like to attach some photos but am not sure how, i tried to attach the files but the system said no. Once i attach some photos I would appreciate any advice on how and if these issues should be repaired, my Supervisor says that the areas where the slab is too large will not need repair but i am not so sure. this was a hot topics a few weeks ago, please have a search. In short, the huge overhang can be problematic for the your house structure. In cases where the overhang is in area where there is no weight (such as box windows in mycase), i believe the remedy is easier. In your case, by looking at the pic, it could be more serious. So read and follow Kevin's advise closely. good luck. This is 100% true. You can not hang anything on steel frames. very frustrating 8 8021 12 5320 Need more photos from around the house including your gutters.
