Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 09, 2008 8:58 am Does anyone know how they are going to work out the Recycled Water in Marriott Waters estate in Lyndhurst.
We have spoken to Mai, apparently recycled water won't be switched over until October 08'. What I am wanting to know is........will the builder still hook up the toilet etc to the recycled water in the meantime or will we have to pay to get it connected later on........am I making any sense whatsoever?????? Mai has said that basically once it is ready in October it will just be "switched over"......so in the meantime does the builder hook it up to the main water supply or what.....then do we have to pay extra later on to get it switched over and what is involved with them switching it over because obviously they should have to do all the plumbing for the toilets straight away........so how does it all work out?????? As you can see...I'm a bit confused.........because obviously the builder would just connect it to the one that is available now......not the one that is going to be available later.....depending on how long it takes for the recycled water to actually be hooked up properly to the estate........ I guess we just figured the recycled water would all be functional by the time we started building.....or at least by the time we moved in....ie...hooked up to toilets and working properly etc.........but now we are being told otherwise by Mai........ Does anyone have any ideas.......or has anyone experienced the same thing in another estate with recycled water??????? Re: Recycled Water in Marriott Waters, Lyndhurst 2Apr 09, 2008 9:11 am i had no idea about this..................
i just assumed itwas gonna be contected from the begining?? i don't want to have to pay - we dont even have a water tank because we were told we didn't need one cause of the recycled water?? wonder what stage one is goona do?? ARK?? help!! Re: Recycled Water in Marriott Waters, Lyndhurst 3Apr 09, 2008 9:20 am I'm also getting recycled water at Manor Lakes. As far as I'm aware the pipework gets installed at the same time as the normal pipework (just filled with drinking water until it is hooked up to the recycling plant). From there, I believe the water provider (in my case City West Water) then connects the estate to the recycled water plant which I don't think would be an additional cost.
I'm not totally sure of all of the details as the estate hasn't switched over yet. I'll see what I can dig up which might be relevant for you. Re: Recycled Water in Marriott Waters, Lyndhurst 4Apr 09, 2008 10:58 am My recolection during planning with PD is that you must show in your plans recycled water piping to Toilets and external taps.
Maybe Recycled water will be connected to the Compulsory Water tank but also be "topped" up by drinking water?? Not sure, good question. Bernie. Re: Recycled Water in Marriott Waters, Lyndhurst 5Apr 09, 2008 11:27 am Your builders will still connect you to the third piping, recycled water. We are in stage one and I believe they are not anticipating anyone actually living in the estate until around October/November.
However, if anyone doe get handover from their builders before the third piping is online, we can't get certificate of occupancy. Meaning no one has to make the final payment for their build until this point. If you have any queries regarding the recycled water for Marriot do as I have been doing and contact Thiess Services directly as they are the ones running that show, Mai has no idea.... berniebgf wrote: Quote: Maybe Recycled water will be connected to the Compulsory Water tank but also be "topped" up by drinking water?? However as there are two types of water, you will get as standard the following.... 1 tap drinking water to front and rear and 1 tap recycled to front. Generally additional to get another recycled tap to the rear of the house.. So is that saying, if we won't get our certificate of occupancy until recycled water is fully connected to our property, then we can't live in the house until it is connected. We are hoping our builder starts building around the start of May, and we have been notified by them that building will normally take about 3.5 - 4.5 months. So we're hoping to be in there iby September. Tracey & Paul Taylor Living in Marriott Waters Burbank Homes - Camellia 2900 (29.8sq) Land settlement - 8/05/2008!!! Building started - 5/06/08!!! Gav & Vanessa Building In Melbourne (Sth East Suburbs) http://www.arkraider.blogspot.com/ Rawdon Hill Construction - Canterbury Heritage Re: Recycled Water in Marriott Waters, Lyndhurst 8Apr 09, 2008 12:58 pm So therefore, what happens with handover if you can't live in your property until you get certificate of occupancy?
Do they postpone handover? Or do you still have to do handover and take ownership without being able to live in the property until the recycled water is connected? I'm just trying to make sense of this........ Tracey & Paul Taylor Living in Marriott Waters Burbank Homes - Camellia 2900 (29.8sq) Land settlement - 8/05/2008!!! Building started - 5/06/08!!! Don't really know yet, I have been unable to get a defenite answer from Oliver Hume or the builders. Quote: Do they postpone handover? Only thing I can say for sure, is that you can't move in without a certificate of occupancy, and you can't get that with out the services in operation.... So, in a nutshell, Sth East Water (aka Thiess Services) and or Oliver Hume and or Marriott better get there buts in to gear. I don't know if you have noticed the big water tanks just passed the sales office or not, but that is what they are filling with recycled water so they can water the street landscaping. If that is what they are telling you, then tell them you would like them to upgrade the insulation or something else you might like in lieu of the water tank. Because it will not get used at MW. plus it would take up additional unnecessary space in your back yard.... Re: Recycled Water in Marriott Waters, Lyndhurst 15Apr 09, 2008 8:52 pm We're building with Burbank Homes, if we had of built in Melington Estate then we would have had to get the water tank, but since Marriott Waters has the recycled water then we don't have to get the water tank.....one of the many reasons we bought in the estate.....
Ours does come with Solar hot water........not sure if it would have come with that regardless of where we built. Bernie....do you have a freshwater fish tank? My husband, Paul, has salt water......although he has closed it down until we finally move into the new house, he has a 6ft X 4ft.....which you can see why he has closed it down for now. Re: Recycled Water in Marriott Waters, Lyndhurst 18Apr 14, 2008 5:47 pm Back to the recycled water at MW, I found out today that, the 3rd pipe, (purple hose - recycled water) will not be getting turned on until about Nov this year....
However, is what will be happening is, the purple pipes will be plumbed to normal tap water in the interim and later when the recycled wateline becomes available it will turned over.....
