Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Monte Carlo - Home Group WA - Corimbia Estate, Landsdale 64Mar 06, 2013 3:35 pm Hi Nicci, We're about to have handover of our HGWA build...I know what you mean about delays, but I hope you agree with me when I say that they're really open with their communication, and you will be kept informed of everything. We had a delay of over 2 months with our final amended plans being submitted to council - part of the delay was due to HGWA, the rest was the council having staff who took extended annual leave and didn't pass on their work to another staff member.... Anyhow....if you do need someone good to contact at HGWA, see if you can talk to Daniel in Drafting. He is fantastic and will keep pushing your file through to where it needs to be. You guys are in right into that annoying paperwork period that's fraught with waiting. Frustrating, but it will be well worth it in the end. You'll have a quality build Also, I love the Kitty Grey colour choice!! It's finally happening! Thanks for the tip about Daniel in Drafting.. Will have to try contact them. How long do you think your build took? I really wanted to be in by christmas seeing as we started all this in sept. At least we know a neighbour already My partner and I drove past our block yesterday and it seems like the block next to you have started building? Houses are going up thick and fast... What stage are you at now? The houses around are going up so fast.. we have walked through most of the ones going up.. we are waiting for our final drafts and to book prestart in.. everything is done on our side. when do you think you will start building? Home Group WA Monte Carlo Timeline on Page 1 Re: Monte Carlo - Home Group WA - Corimbia Estate, Landsdale 72Mar 25, 2013 3:52 pm I am hoping to start in a couple of months time (at most) if not earlier. I have just signed the final prestart variation form, everything has been submitted to council for approval etc. Then it is back to the waiting game. I am hoping to be able to move in before Christmas (here is to hoping), so we'll see how we go. It's unfortunate we got held up on the land (problem with stockland) so it was delayed a couple of months. New Generation reckons they can have it built in less than 6 months once they actually get on site...but I take what they say with a pinch of salt... Re: Monte Carlo - Home Group WA - Corimbia Estate, Landsdale 77Mar 27, 2013 12:50 am Hi Nicci Just read your thread, soory to hear about the delays. We are just in the process of deciding on our final design, have been looking at a number of builders but keep coming back to HomeGroup. We are looking at The Bordeaux with a few changes. Have chosen our block in Ellenbrook and are hoping to sign up on Thursday. Have you been out to their showrooms yet, if so are they up & running properly? With your soakwells are they being done by the builder? and if so do you mind letting me know what they have quoted. Thanks and look forward to your updates John Re: Monte Carlo - Home Group WA - Corimbia Estate, Landsdale 78Mar 27, 2013 10:21 am May, thats not too far away.. At Corimbia they have people buying land for titles only due in December already.. crazy. Hi John & Ash, congrats on building.. we were quoted $3,500 for Stormwater disposal system - soakwells to an 'A Class' site.. the last time we were at HGWA headoffice was end of jan and showroom wasnt properly set up.. better then when we went in Dec and everything was on the floor still. I do like homegroup but they are so slow and dont have timeframes. Ive only heard good things about their quility builds so thats another positive. Look forward to following your build with them. Though I suppose our blocks were released in November, so thats 7 months which is a long time, but i suppose one advantage is it lets people get ahead in their finances prior to settlement. Re: Monte Carlo - Home Group WA - Corimbia Estate, Landsdale 80Mar 27, 2013 2:27 pm Thats a pretty long wait too.. thats right.. the amount of time waiting, helps for saving.. we put our deposit down in sept and titles were due in dec but were a month late, so not too bad. Home Group WA Monte Carlo Timeline on Page 1 Joe, it depends on your certifier but we are noticing the ones we deal with are really cracking down.
