That means everyone in the area will have built and hopefully less sand to blow around from vacant blocks Have you met our new neighbours at all? Was wondering if our house was still standing after the storms - it looked pretty bad on the news!! How is your build coming along? Have you got windows? Lockup yet? Re: First Build - Madora Bay - Brick Photo Update 163Sep 13, 2013 3:09 pm Yeah we have resigned to the fact that we will not get handover in time for Christmas - looking more like March Little disappointed with the progress of our build as I think it has taken 8 weeks to get from plate high brickwork to roof on and we still aren't there yet I'm back on r&R next week so hopefully some action then Rain Rain go away! Re: First Build - Madora Bay - Brick Photo Update 164Sep 13, 2013 3:52 pm 8 weeks! That's insane. Mine was only 4 weeks form plate height to colorbond moment and that was with couple week delay for colorbond due to rain back logging the installers. Id def be complaining Re: First Build - Madora Bay - Brick Photo Update 165Sep 13, 2013 6:15 pm Meet with our SS this morning and he said we should get hand over early December. We ordered our carpet today with an install date mid December so heres hoping. Meet you neighbor Today ,Andrew, he was installing a heat exchanger in the ground at a depth of about 3 meters. Seems like a nice guy. His slab is down next week with a small custom builder. A lot of c#ntent homes in MBay that started after you but are now at the same stage fyi. Re: First Build - Madora Bay - Brick Photo Update 166Sep 23, 2013 6:37 pm Hi All, Well not a lot of movement with our house yet again due to this yucky windy weather. Good news is that the slab has dried out a lot. We have roof sheeting on half of the garage, the whole alfresco & part of the WIR/Ensuite. Arrived at house today to make sure no storm damage after the weekend weather and noticed that the next door neighbours slab was being poured. Then noticed that they were using our water to lay the slab. Spoke to the guys there and they said they had no choice as they have no water. Called up the builder (Diamond Constructions) and so far not very happy with the way they conduct business. I was told by the owner, Mark, that I should get a life... really great customer service - I only hope he deals with his clients better or it would be hell to build with them! We have notified our builder so they are aware as do not want this to become the norm because there is no way that they are going to use our power next!!! Re: First Build - Madora Bay - Brick Photo Update 167Sep 23, 2013 8:08 pm Get a life.... ummm you're paying for that water. What a tool! Re: First Build - Madora Bay - Brick Photo Update 168Sep 26, 2013 9:03 pm Well Engle let me tell you the wife found them yesterday using my power box with a lead across the road. Lucky I wasnt there I would have unplugged it and cut it with my side cutters. Re: First Build - Madora Bay - Brick Photo Update 169Sep 26, 2013 10:49 pm Man they are going to kill someone if they aren't careful. Thats absolute crap. Wonder if they have been using our power too then... Wonder how this can be taken further cos it is crap. Wonder if it is worth bringing up with the actual neighbour and seeing if they will address it? Suggest letting your builder know and then hopefully they will also address it with this builder as our builder has addressed this directly with them. On another awesome note We have colorbond Woohoo!! No more weather delays!!! They communicate really well as we have had a number of things we have needed to talk to our SS about (as we work away) to try and schedule everything for the build and they have always contacted us straight away. We have had a few minor little issues which our builder inspector has advised but when we have contacted Content with the things to be rectified they have always rectified them in timely manner. Our SS is Kale & Chrissy is our liaison officer and they are awesome to work with. They actually just sent us a gift voucher & card to thank us for our patience with the build. Don't really think it has taken any longer than other builds however we did have some crappy weather for a large majority of it. As far as pricing goes - I think all the little additions/changes we made were not too expensive.. we made 47 pages of variations so a heap of changes and the end price didn't shock us which was good - it came as a pleasant surprise. Hope you build goes smoothly Purchased Land: October 2010 Pre Quotation: August 2012 Pre Start Complete: 29 Nov 2012 Refinance for Build approved: 11 March 2013 Due to commence build!!!!
