Thanks so much everyone for your help, this forum has been wonderful. Re: What to put in wall niche 22Dec 11, 2012 7:59 pm our dream home Doors and walls are so cliche maybe I can replace them with a giant niche. This forum really needs a 'like' button! Why bother taking the time to write an entire post if its completely negative. I think a mirror will look nice and really open the room up, good choice Its a public forum kjw7, if people don't want differing opinions then perhaps putting it out there on a public forums isn't the best idea. But if I upset the OP I apologise. I was simply stating my opinion, which is what I would do to any client. I didn't actually say anything about having a problem with a different opinion I merely stated that the way you said it wasn't very helpful. I, like you was just stating my opinion. Re: What to put in wall niche 25Dec 13, 2012 12:55 pm I asked a friendly question all I needed was an opinion as to what to put in a niche... That's it! Vase , mirror, chip dispenser what ever
. Your comment about niches being cliche is not helpful it's too late I clearly have a house that is getting built with two in it I couldn't care less that you don't like them!! There are some door designs I dislike I have opinions on those and if some one asked me do u like my door I would reply truthfully as like you said public forum my opinion.. My question was what to put in a niche your comment unfortunately was not helpful. Anyway the questions been answered now. Re: What to put in wall niche 26Dec 13, 2012 1:06 pm Hang on at no point did you say the house was completed, you posted a picture of the display home. If you think people don't think about what furniture or artwork to buy before the house is built you are kidding yourself. Yeah if I thought you had built the house I probably would have skipped the post. Re: What to put in wall niche 27Dec 13, 2012 1:09 pm That makes no sense at all of course I think about what to put in the house... I asked the question about what to put in a niche.. there is a picture of the niche in our half built house above put up a while ago. I am hoping it will be painted soon as its been a while since we picked the colour of the paint and that little sample is hard to go by . Thanks to those who ACTUALLY helped really appreciate your comments What to put in wall niche 29Oct 16, 2013 7:20 pm As mentioned above mirrors are in my opinion the best option but some others would be: Cork boards or blackboards. Ask your local framer, they normally have print catalogues that might have something in a size that suits or a set of images that could work. Alternatively choose a piece that can be trimmed to suit (you can easily get away with this with abstract pieces). You can also ask your framer to make a frame to fit the niche proportions and have a mount cut with various openings that you can pop your own photos in. Can you tell I used to be a picture framer? http://camdenbuild.blogspot.com.au/ by invite only please pm me Re: What to put in wall niche 30Oct 16, 2013 7:50 pm Great!
