No point talking to loons. Enjoy twisting people's words and accusing people and telling them they're are aggressive in hope they bite back. Re: Dale Alcock advice 22Dec 08, 2012 8:48 pm now now you two...time to calm down...after all that's happened in the media this past day there really is no need for this... However, if I might put my own two bobs worth in...if I had a grievance/problem or query with my build for whatever reason big or small I would not be posting about it on the forum first....the very first person who should be contacted is your supervisor or customer liason officer as that is what they get paid for... So by writing an accurate representation, the highs and lows, it can answer a lot of peoples potential questions and keep them out of the dark so they can relax. I have had quite a few people pm and thank me for sharing my build and it's cleared the air for them. I didn't initally know my builder was following my build, so that's just a bonus, if they feel the need to clarify things. The construction side of my build so far has been excellent and the workmanship has been top notch. I know some people are private with their build and I respect that, but I have nothing to hide and if I can help some people out and recieve some advice along the way for myself then I am happy. Re: Dale Alcock advice 24Dec 08, 2012 9:18 pm I dont know alot bout either company. They both seem to have alot of people build with them. I did notice when we were choosing DA were expensive but i didnt find Summit to be much cheaper either. I think perhaps needs come down to floorplan and your sales rep. Who are you more comfortable with? which floorplan needs least amount changes/upgrades? Our builder has a marketing person who does follow these forum but does not post. Id dare say most builders do but only a few who post in threads . Where others prob PM or call up etc. Re: Dale Alcock advice 25Dec 08, 2012 10:48 pm We are building with new generation one of summits others brands. We had a few ups and down at first but if I'm honest that was mainly down to us not understanding the process over here. However since we ironed out the niggles they have been nothing short of fab we have over 70 changes to original house design and so far it's been great. Our house started at 170 and has ended up just under 250 however it is my dream house my oh has let me have whatever I wanted. He said when working it out it was still cheaper than a display house we had priced. They do give discounts but rather than cash off they will upgrade or go the extra bit for you. I'm really pleased we went with them now all I would say is do as many of the upgrades and changes you can so the price is in your ppa then you can get this on the mortgage usually. Summit group deffo get my vote. I think perhaps needs come down to floorplan and your sales rep. Who are you more comfortable with? which floorplan needs least amount changes/upgrades? Agree completely. Our biggest deciding factor was that Summit had the design we loved, rather than just liked. We were always going to build a house with a skillion roof, and there aren't many out there. Rural Building do some very nice ones, but were way out of our budget. Switch had a nice skillion design house in Woodvale, but we didn't like the internal room layout.
