Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 02, 2012 8:41 pm Hi, My partner and i have just brought a small cottage block in whiteman edge YAY. We are excite to start the build process but titles arent due till Feb/Mar. We have chosen a builder and a design we are very happy with for our rear loaded lot. has anyone else built on a rear loaded lot? if so where is your letter box? I'm a little confused as in other estate they have been built into the front fence that the estate provides but whiteman edge haven't done this. thanks Celebration Homes, Whiteman edge Re: First homebuyers - Whiteman Edge, Brabham 2Dec 03, 2012 12:14 am just a quick hello from me also building in whiteman edge! i didn't notice the lack of letterboxes? ill have a look when Im out there next as to what the fence looks like..can't picture it! Re: First homebuyers - Whiteman Edge, Brabham 3Dec 03, 2012 9:32 am I have looked at the papers they gave us when buying the block and it does have a little bit about it. it shows the fence they put at the front with steps leading up to the block it shows the letter box built in to the metal part of the fence but when we went out there and drove around there we no letter boxs in the fencs but I guess they could still add them later. I'd prefer them at the front. How big is your block? Celebration Homes, Whiteman edge Re: First homebuyers - Whiteman Edge, Brabham 4Dec 03, 2012 11:39 am yeah i would be surprised if they weren't in the fence but you never know! we are in stage 2b (i think?) on a 558m2 block. we were looking around for ages for a block with a north facing backyard and at least 17m + frontage so it was perfect and we bought it fairly quickly! that was 6 months ago though as we have taken our time picking a builder. Im just hoping we are in by September... Re: First homebuyers - Whiteman Edge, Brabham 5Dec 03, 2012 1:22 pm Congrats on the purchase of your block and choosing your builder, you have plenty of times to get things sorted so take things slowly and easily. I look forward to following your build Re: First homebuyers - Whiteman Edge, Brabham 6Dec 03, 2012 3:13 pm Hi! We are also building in whiteman edge, we are xxkatxx's next door neighbors, our block is the same size I don't know anything about the letter boxes but you could probably ring Rob or Lloyd and just ask the question, I'm sure they'd be able to help you out. Looking forward to following your build! Re: First homebuyers - Whiteman Edge, Brabham 7Dec 03, 2012 4:27 pm How good is that finding your next door neighbour lol or did you know each other before hand? We have been looking since feb and choose our builder before we had land but before they could draw anything up we needed a block and to save more. We are living with family at the moment so that's helping alot. We have choosen celebration homes like itzeddie they have been great with everything and any questions we've had their price came good aswell. I'm in stage 3 we currently have half a retaining wall and a sand pile at the moment our neighbours have a nice flat ground with steps and fence. Titles feel so far away hopefully it all goes smoothly. I look forward to seeing all your builds. Now that our plan is chosen we just waiting for them to draw it up with our changes. We made the garage longer, put a tv recess in the family room, put double door frames to theater so we can chose our door after handover, made our laundry bench longer, put slider doors to our linen, up graded our ensuite to a double vanity and raised ceiling height to main living area. I think that's all We have our pre start folder and have already decided on a few things but we can't agree on bricks lol. Oh well pre start won't be until January at the earliest. I'll probably go out for a look on the weekend and take a photo of my sand pile. I bet they won't have done anything more to it. I'll also have a look at your house and the others on here Celebration Homes, Whiteman edge First homebuyers - Whiteman Edge, Brabham 18Dec 05, 2012 7:10 pm Looking forward to following your build. Re: First homebuyers - Whiteman Edge, Brabham 20Dec 05, 2012 10:40 pm I think the house on my street that is near completion was doing handover today or pre handover. It's actually an Aveling Home the Homegroup house is next to it but has the sign pretty much between the too blocks, so it could be easily mistaken. The lady was in her mid to late 20s. With a few Aveling homes Reps. It seemed like the rollershutter door may of had a fault because they kept opening it and closing it and inspecting it lol.
