Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 02, 2012 7:07 pm This is my first post so here goes. We have purchased a block of land in Lisarow on the central coast. We were unaware at the time of purchase that the council had changed their mind on how we would need to do our driveway. All of the other blocks in the estate have steepish driveways but the council have said we could only have a specific incline. There are only two vacant blocks left in the estate including ours. This mean that we will need to have the driveway traverse across the block and can obviously only go up so far meaning that the garage of the proposed dwelling can only be in a specific spot. When we bought the block it had approval for a home with tullipan, we went and saw them and designed what we needed. The tender has come in at $605,000 about $100k over our budget. This is without driveways floor and window covering etc etc. Does anyone know if any other builders would be more competitive with pricing? Could this restriction on the driveway make it that much more expensive?? I think from my interpretation of the contour survey the block has a 5m fall? I could be wrong.
