We've been so busy lately that we haven't had a chance to do a proper update, but we're really happy with the progress for sure. The bath and laundry taps they installed are incorrect, so we sent an email through to have them corrected, but otherwise everything's going according to plan and on the schedule in my head. PCI should be by Nov 8 for sure, unless there's a delay with the flooring or something like that. Our interior painting will finish up this week, our appliances have been installed, our laminate flooring is being installed this Friday, and our carpets will be installed next Tuesday. We still haven't received a date for PCI, but it surely must be in a fortnight or so. With respect to our flooring, we just received a call from Carpet Call that the laminate in stock has been damaged and there isn't enough to complete our floor. They can't order more since it's been discontinued. I was shocked that this wasn't realised until 3 days before installation, but after seeing the replacement, we're reasonably happy. It's a bit bold, but hopefully it will be a great contrast against our Polar White cabinets and Ice Snow caesarstone. Here are the latest photos, now in no particular order... I have to say wood look flooring makes a white kitchen 'pop' so I am sure you will be happy when you see it done!! Re: Homebuyers Centre in Wellard - Interior Fittings 187Oct 28, 2013 11:54 pm Well no flooring installed when we checked on the weekend, but the electrical was finished from what we could tell. All the down lights were installed in the ceiling, the air conditioner was connected (with all the associated ceiling vents), the exhaust fans were in, and the switches and power points were in, as well as data cabling. Interestingly, apparently the quad GPO's don't come in silver, which we weren't told about, but only heard on another thread. Pretty crazy, but not the end of the world. Looking forward to getting NBN soon…heck, I'm just looking forward to getting keys soon. I reckon two solid weeks of work, then PCI. I emailed to get dates, but no word yet. Still to come: timber laminate install, carpet install, second coat of interior paint, door handles, mirrors, closet doors, shower screens, exterior paint, garage door. And probably heaps of stuff I can't remember too Nitro The Village at Wellard Homebuyers Centre Ultimate Entertainer (Custom) Our Home Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=61358 Re: Homebuyers Centre in Wellard - Interior Fittings 188Nov 01, 2013 2:23 am Hey Nitro, Your place looks amazing! Despite your hassle, you've got me thinking about timber look flooring now! Yeah, the roof really flew along, the next stage being the internal render. After reading your thread I was hoping that from the time our roof was finished till the next weekend (last weekend now ) they might have done the internal render, but NO, they had done exactly...NOTHING! Good weather and stuff all work - not happy JAN! (Guess we can't all have your luck there!) Hopefully when I go down this weekend maybe there will have been some changes! In fact, Charlie who's building down the road from us commented that he thought he saw windows go in the other day - so excited to see that, but what I really want to see is when they do the external render! Now that will be something!!! Good luck with your NBN - I'll be getting that too AAHHHAHAHAHAHAA, and not that fibre to the node waffle that a certain 'he who should not be named' came up with - Fibre to the premises yeaah!!!! We're now aiming for a Nov 13 PCI date, but I guess they book them once everything is complete and the site supervisor notifies the office that work is complete. We spent the better part of yesterday at the site cleaning up the front in preparation for our estate landscaping consultation which will happen before we move in. The builder would have completed a site clean, but since the estate landscaper is not particular, we thought we just do it ourselves. Second coat of paint is done now, though for some reason they are re-doing our ceilings, possibly due to cracking or something from when they installed our down lights and air conditioning ducting. Will need sanding and painting afterwards, of course. The timber laminate is all in, but the trim will need to be completed. Carpets will have to be installed, along with door handles and light switch covers, but everything else is pretty much complete (mirrors in, shower screens in, gas connected, electricity connected). Oh yeah, they also have to fix some render around the door bell, which was chipped during the install. And garage door--we still need that too. Here are some limited photos of the house--we couldn't get too many more since the blinds are in already and blocking our window view. I must admit that the front paint looks less dramatic than anticipated, but I think it's because there's not much contrast against the dirt. Once the lawn and garden beds are in, it'll be so much nicer Oh yeah, we're also super happy with the laminate flooring--it's exactly what we wanted, light and dark colours intermixed. We also have an independent inspector performing his inspection on the same morning, then we have a landscaping consultation with the estate's landscaper in the afternoon, followed by a meeting with the principal of our boys' new school. A very busy day!! There's still a few small things for them to do, like some chipped render to repair, ceilings to paint, door handles to install and water filter to install, but that's like 1 day's work, so no big deal. If all goes according to plan, we should have no problem getting keys by the week of Nov 25-29. We started early and had our PCI with the site supervisor, who was strangely older than we expected, only having met him yesterday but a really knowledgable guy and truly understood building houses. We scoured meticulously through the house ourselves, and we also had a building inspector perform his inspection. There were numerous touch ups to be done, but most of them cosmetic. A paint stroke here, sanding cornice there. A couple down lights to replace, caulking to add, holes to patch, gas to connect, a couple GPO's to connect. Nothing major. The inspector did notice a couple items that were BCA non-compliance matters…namely adding a few support brackets to the roof frame to stick to current building code, and adding weep vents and window flashing to several windows, which I don't entirely know how that's done, but something for the builder to sort out anyways. We were really happy overall with the build quality, and in the inspectors words "we got really lucky" in our build, since ours was the best house he's seen so far this year. That was such a huge relief to know there's nothing to dramatic going on. The builder has 10 working days to rectify the outstanding items noted and provide an additional handover inspection, which will take us to Nov 27 at the latest. The final payment will be made to the builder by then, and we'll be able to pick up keys and move in by the end of the month. Excited for sure, but now it's a matter of doing all the moving steps that we hate…disconnecting and reconnecting services (and being hit with ridiculous fees as well). Hoping we can get the NBN internet connected ASAP so we can upload "moved in" photos to H1 shortly after we move in Nitro The Village at Wellard Homebuyers Centre Ultimate Entertainer (Custom) Our Home Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=61358 Re: Homebuyers Centre in Wellard - PCI Complete, Keys in 2 w 198Nov 14, 2013 11:55 pm Here are a few photos taken before and at PCI: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Loving the timber laminate now that it's been cleaned.
