Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 02, 2012 11:25 am Hi guys, I have been looking for ages with my gf to build a house, spending hours trying to compare builder and prices. We finally decided to go with Aussie Living and so far they have been absolutely amazing. We have been dealing with a French sales rep who was very helpful and nice and has a great French accent...lol! He explained everything to us and made sure we were on the same page at all time. His customer service is just 5star worth. We are building the optima down in Meadow Springs and are quit exited to see the result. Has anyone already built before with A.L what are they like? Has anyone ever deal before with that FrenchGuy? Thanks for your time reading my post, can't wait to read your answers. Re: Review Aussie Living Homes 2Dec 02, 2012 11:54 am I havent built with them but have stalked the floor plan looks nice.. its alaways great to find a rep who give syou the time and interest you deserve.. look forward to your updates and good luck chelle xx Re: Review Aussie Living Homes 3Dec 02, 2012 12:02 pm Good luck with the build! We're building with Aussie, we also had a great sales guy! We haven't started building yet, had prestart on Friday. At this stage I would say make sure you are well informed for prestart, it went quite quickly so you need to know what you want to ask to upgrade. Also know if you want brick or render for your facade, you need to have it sorted prior to signing the building contract. Something we just found out but hoping will be sorted out Look forward to seeing your build progress! Re: Review Aussie Living Homes 4Jan 15, 2013 7:52 pm We also went with Aussie Living because of the great service from the Sales Rep, we have had very good service from them but found that they will give you what you want without pointing out any problems that your ideas may have. Check your plans very, very carefully and also your contract add ons and specs etc. Our house is nearly complete, maybe check my blog and see what issues I had, nothing major but irritating to say the least. My advice is include all you can afford unless you have contacts in the building field, running around trying to find tradies to complete the job after handover, like tiling and painting etc is a major pain and doesnt always save you enough to make the hassle worthwhile. Good Luck with the build. Re: Review Aussie Living Homes 5Jan 15, 2013 7:59 pm Oh, I meant to mention, once you sign the contract everything is "cast in stone", no inclusions or exclusions except at a cost.. so check everything carefully and dont sign anything unless you are 100% happy. Also, if you choose to finish off the house yourself, they will not allow you to do anything outside the contract until they have handed over the house to you. Otherwise they are good, professional and they do a good job. Re: Review Aussie Living Homes 6Jan 31, 2013 6:05 pm We haven't even started building yet and already I will never go back. The sales rep is opinionated about everything and won't listen to what we want. Telling us to do it "his" was so when we sell it in a year we'll make money. Never mind that we want it to be a home for our kids to grow up in. No plans in selling in the near or far future. He's made changes to it himself that we never knew about. And being told, "Congratulations! You can start the whole process now, lock in your land and house" to find out after putting a deposit on the land and signing contacts, we need to sell our land in another state. In 3 months. If we had been told of this there is no way we would have considered handing over any money or signing on any dotted line. i thought the flipped plan initially but bec i want narrow pathway from entry to dining (dont like bend), also cannot fit the… 7 17279 It is true that a builder can ignore your independent inspection report as it is not part of the contractual arrangement but that is stupid because he cannot avoid fixing… 9 46858 The worst thing you can do is sign a building contract without a pre contract review. Over the years many people have come to me with disputes where they just signed… 0 8341 |
