The council or Bisinella must have arranged it. Awesome! Awesome! We have a bit of damage to our one too, nothing bad though. Once our crossover is laid it should be fine! 4 days to go!!!! Re: Our Burbank Lukin 2800 - Handover Booked 12/9/13 248Sep 12, 2013 11:23 pm nickvee Thanks bluesuede!! How far along is your place now, did you do pci? Yeah we had our PCI today, long list of bits and pieces to fix up - but handover is scheduled for the 27th Can't wait! Completed a knock down and rebuild in northern Melbourne. Handover completed 27/09/2013 and now moved in. Re: Our Burbank Lukin 2800 - Handover Booked 12/9/13 249Sep 13, 2013 7:32 am Congratulations Nickvee! Super exciting. Good luck with the move today. Have fun unpacking, we still have lots to go. Re: Our Burbank Lukin 2800 - Handover Booked 12/9/13 251Sep 16, 2013 9:23 am Thanks guys! Sorry for the late reply we have been busy moving in!! Laura, what is your mobile reception like in your place, ours is horrible!! Constant dropouts... Also, had Opticomm out to do the install, well it failed - Burbank wired the place incorrectly... Re: Our Burbank Lukin 2800 - Handover Booked 12/9/13 252Sep 16, 2013 3:58 pm Yeah the phone reception is crap! I have to go out in the backyard to call someone half of the time. When we had a portable/USB wifi it was really bad too, but the opticomm works perfectly. Sounds familiar hope it gets connected for you soon. Re: Our Burbank Lukin 2800 - Handover Booked 12/9/13 253Sep 16, 2013 4:03 pm I think i am going to get Opticomm to fix the problems and Burbank have agreed to reimburse the costs. The tech from Opticomm said it would be $120 for him to fix it up, which is not too bad. I don't have time to wait for the Burbank electrician to come back as i need the internet for work asap! I wonder if we can talk to Telstra / Optus to see what is going on with the reception, i think they need a more powerful tower to cover the whole of Lara. Tried for 12 years to get them to do something about the lousy reception in my area and ended up giving up and getting an Optus homezone instead to route 3G via my home broadband and get full reception. Now I've got landline issues as well - having knocked down the old place and cut off the old services and rebuilt, nobody will connect up to the existing Telstra pit because it is asbestos. Have to wait for Telstra to get around to replacing the pits in my court, whenever that will be! Also means no broadband for me until then and as I know mobile reception sucks that's not going to be an ideal interim solution!!! How you finding things now you've moved in? Must be great to finally be there!! Completed a knock down and rebuild in northern Melbourne. Handover completed 27/09/2013 and now moved in. I might investigate this, do you know if Telstra have a similar product? Sucks about your telephone though - i think i would go mental! nickvee How you finding things now you've moved in? Must be great to finally be there!! It feels amazing! I enjoy being busy and there is so much to do. We had bins delivered yesterday and i was thinking to myself, "i really shouldn't be this excited about getting bins delivered" We have had a few issues with plumbing - had a small leak in the en-suite and laundry on Saturday but i called the Burbank emergency number and they had someone out the same day. Our crossover and the path around the house were poured on Saturday, so just waiting on the bloke to come and fit the gate. Here are some photos (they are pretty crap quality though, i will take some better ones once it's all done): Front of the house with mailbox and HUGE numbers! Sucks about your telephone though - i think i would go mental! As far as I know Optus are the only mobile carrier that currently offer this sort of technology in Australia. It's been a lifesaver for me as I work a lot from home. Your place looks great! Glad to hear Burbank fixed the leak for you quickly. Don't worry, I'm getting kind of excited about getting bins delivered again too! lol Completed a knock down and rebuild in northern Melbourne. Handover completed 27/09/2013 and now moved in. Re: Our Burbank Lukin 2800 - Moved In! 257Sep 17, 2013 11:12 am Your alternative with Telstra is to get a Telstra Mobile Smart Antenna. It's essentially a repeater for indoors to boost NextG signal strength. It's not the same as the Optus offering (ie doesn't route via your broadband) but its supposedly pretty good for locations with poor signal. Completed a knock down and rebuild in northern Melbourne.
