Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our Burbank Lukin 2800 - Grand Lakes VIC. Bricks Started 81May 04, 2013 3:31 pm Your house seems to be going up so quick! Looks great, will be good once the other brick has been done. We snuck in and put noggins for rails etc. and although our site supervisor noticed, he didn't care. It's just an OH&S risk for them. I'm sure everyone does it! We will have finished our landscaping by next weekend... got jealous of everyone getting instant turf so we stretched the budget (again) and ordered some buffalo. So hopefully we'll see the bond returned soon! Re: Our Burbank Lukin 2800 - Grand Lakes VIC. Bricks Done! 85May 13, 2013 9:04 am No that's definitely poorly installed. Raise it with them to get rectified. Completed a knock down and rebuild in northern Melbourne. Handover completed 27/09/2013 and now moved in. Re: Our Burbank Lukin 2800 - Grand Lakes VIC. Bricks Done! 89May 21, 2013 6:39 pm Little bit frustrated today. Firstly, the house is currently locked up. The plasters covered up the door in the garage that leads into the house, i guess to stop people getting in. On Saturday, we noticed that the plastered had been ripped off so someone could get in. Then on Sunday, we noticed our french doors had been unlocked and left open (not really an issue, but, these doors open outwards fully, so if there is a big enough wind, it could damage the bricks or the doors. Then today, someone (not a tradie as no one is working at the house at the moment) ripped out our bathroom window and just left it sitting outside. What the hell!! Grrrr Sorry, just venting Re: Our Burbank Lukin 2800 - Grand Lakes VIC. Bricks Done! 90May 21, 2013 7:22 pm I'd be contacting the builder and letting them know both about the doors left wide open and the window having been removed. Annoying! I had a chuckle today when I opened my mail and found an invoice for lock up stage - given that the rear sliding doors are wide open and can't be shut due to the scaffolding, the temporary front door is never locked and rarely closed, and there is no door whatsoever from the garage into the house so there is no ability to actually lock up the house at all! Bricks Done! 91May 21, 2013 7:39 pm Hey Nickee, We where at our place Sunday about 3pm and the your back door was open, and your window was on the ground outside then. But when we left your back door was closed. You may have been and gone during the time we were there, cause didn't see your car at your place when we left. Re: Our Burbank Lukin 2800 - Grand Lakes VIC. Bricks Done! 92May 21, 2013 7:50 pm I knew I shouldn't have paid the dam lockup invoice, the entry door to house from the garage isn't even on yet! Hey Corz, it was us that closed those French doors, saw your car but couldn't see you.. Re: Our Burbank Lukin 2800 - Grand Lakes VIC. Bricks Done! 93May 21, 2013 8:24 pm We were inside checking all the electrical was correct, lucky cause they had missed a few things. Amazing how quick they can get there invoices out! Pity everything did happen that fast! Re: Our Burbank Lukin 2800 - Grand Lakes VIC. Bricks Done! 94May 21, 2013 8:30 pm I reckon I've been over everything a billion times and I bet I will still forget something haha.. I noticed your bricks were cleaned today, looking good! Bricks Done! 97May 25, 2013 10:17 am Thanks I'm actually a bit worried about the kitchen, the microwave spot is bigger than I thought and the draw underneath is supposed to be for pots. We won't even fit a pot in it!! Though we do have a fairly sized pantry so we could store pots there, or we may have to make a trip to ikea haha We are supposed to be at lockup now, but the access door from the garage is still not on.. Re: Our Burbank Lukin 2800 - Grand Lakes VIC. Bricks Done! 98May 25, 2013 10:37 am Oh yeah can see what you mean... We've got 3 pot drawers and they only just fit in! Kind of wish we had overhead cupboards in the laundry. And drawers in the ensuite. But no biggie. Re: Our Burbank Lukin 2800 - Grand Lakes VIC. Bricks Done! 99May 27, 2013 9:33 pm What length is your bath Nickvee, is it the 1675mm? The back fence will probably go up soon now our scaffolding is down. I noticed your old Lot has just sold last week. Re: Our Burbank Lukin 2800 - Grand Lakes VIC. Bricks Done! 100May 28, 2013 8:19 am LMcNish, i think we all win and loose, you need more in the laundry where we need more in kitchen! haha Corz, yes it is at 1675mm bath, tiny! About time someone bought that block, it's all starting to fill out now. Will be good to see the fence go up, though not sure if you or I need let Bisinella know, or have have our neighbors already got the ball rolling? This certainly doesn't look good. I would be engaging with an independent inspector to have a look at this.
