Only once walls are up and gyprock is on that you get a good appreciation of size I'd say you most probably will have a slab by the end of the week. Do you have much room between the house and the fence? We built the Wisdom Majestic 40 - moved in! Congrats!you must be so excited now! Thanks mate, yeah really excited to see things happening each day... Re: Building our dream home Aspiration 29 with Wisdom Homes 84Mar 13, 2013 9:24 am Onewheel The house never looks very big at slab stage. Only once walls are up and gyprock is on that you get a good appreciation of size I'd say you most probably will have a slab by the end of the week. Do you have much room between the house and the fence? From memory our frontage was 6m, side setbacks 1.2m one side and 900m on other. I do hope we can get slab soon Weather not looking good for the next few days but so will have to wait and see I guess. Joe did say we should have slab by next Monday. Yeah my parents also mention that during slab stage you can't really judge the size of the house and only at gyprock stage, hopefully this is true cause I can't imagine how the rooms can fit at the moment!! Re: Building our dream home Aspiration 29 with Wisdom Homes 85Mar 13, 2013 9:25 am 1rocky congrats so close to slab Thanks 1rocky Re: Building our dream home Aspiration 29 with Wisdom Homes 86Mar 15, 2013 8:09 am Congrats, mtjiputra!! Wow...so great ...happy for you! I notice your boundary with neighbours are so tight, where are you going to put the A/C unit? One of my friend still having some trouble from their neighbour due to the A/C noise that the neighbour complaint. Thanks Willcres!! Our A/C unit will be on the left side of the house as per the original Aspiration plan. The left setback is 1.2 m wide and if you can see from the pic there is a space between the study and homethearte where the unit will sit. Hopefully this should be enough Re: Building our dream home Aspiration 29 with Wisdom Homes 88Mar 17, 2013 3:43 pm The reinforcements were done on Thursday http://imageshack.us/a/img534/9857/photomar14184800.jpg Our SS called on Friday and told us that slab will be done on Monday. We went for a drive today to have a look and we were surprised when we saw this http://imageshack.us/a/img837/553/photomar17130033.jpg We have been slabbed They must of completed it on Sat. Thanks Joe! He so far has been great and lives up to his reputation Finally after the long wait we officially have completed the first stage of the build. This is a silly question but when does the invoice get sent? Do we need to contact Wisdom head office and let them know slab is done or I presume our SS will do that? Re: Building our dream home Aspiration 29 with Wisdom Homes 89Mar 17, 2013 4:32 pm Great news mate! Don't worry I'm sure wisdom won't forget to invoice you Do they now leave it for a week or so to cure? Re: Building our dream home Aspiration 29 with Wisdom Homes 90Mar 17, 2013 6:06 pm I think so mate, Joe didn't mention when frame will commence but looking at other timeline's its normally a week after slab that framing starts and windows installed. You're right I'm sure Wisdom won't forget to invoice me It's not too long before your file moves to construction stage mate, hope you get some progress this week Re: Building our dream home Aspiration 29 with Wisdom Homes 91Mar 17, 2013 8:06 pm Awesome mate.so within a few weeks you should have the full frame up! Ye hopefully should be signing off on all variations this week and they start on final construction plans. Re: Building our dream home Aspiration 29 with Wisdom Homes 92Mar 17, 2013 8:30 pm Congratulations on being slabbed!!!:) I'd say you will get your invoice on Monday, there are no delays in that dept, lol. Frame won't be far way, probably a week. We built the Wisdom Majestic 40 - moved in! Yay, slab...so excited at this stage, mtjiputra, (bring back my memory) you'll see more progress in a week time. Re: Building our dream home Aspiration 29 with Wisdom Homes 94Mar 18, 2013 2:04 pm Good news mtjiputra.. Looks like a full steam ahead. Are you planning to check your site weekly, twice weekly or every day ? Re: Building our dream home Aspiration 29 with Wisdom Homes 95Mar 18, 2013 4:05 pm Thanks Onewheel, Willcres and Cpaces. I do hope framing can start asap. Well last week I've been visiting the site almost everyday just to see if there was any work done I can past it on my way home from work and it is only 10 minutes away from where I'm staying now. I guess knowing that frames won't start until the next few days I will probably visit it on the end of the week. Maybe there will be another surprise waiting But when it comes to the next stages I will probably visit everday Not sure if it is a good idea cause I think it makes the week feel longer Re: Building our dream home Aspiration 29 with Wisdom Homes 96Mar 19, 2013 7:15 am Yaaay Mtjiputra, congrats !! How exciting is getting the slab ?? But can I say, probably the most exciting part for me in the whole build so far was the frame going up and that's only a couple of days away for you . To actually finally be able to walk through your rooms and see if all of the little changes you made work - there's nothing like it Definitely the biggest 'bang for your buck' as it goes up so quickly. All of our invoices so far have been processed on a Thursday and emailed to us, with the original arriving in the mail on the Friday. This has worked nicely as our slab, frame, bricks, gyprock etc were all done / completed on a Friday/Sat so we got about a weeks breather before getting the invoice Re: Building our dream home Aspiration 29 with Wisdom Homes 97Mar 19, 2013 6:52 pm Thanks Gentoo, yes seeing the slab finally laid felt like a big burden being lifted and felt really excited on seeing the house finally come to life, but you're right I'll probably be the same as you and be more excited seeing the structural and being able to then visualize the rooms. At the moment its really hard to with just the slab. So was it your CSO emailing you the invoices? Still haven't got the invoice maybe we will be the same and receive it on Thursday. What stage are you at on your build? Re: Building our dream home Aspiration 29 with Wisdom Homes 98Mar 19, 2013 8:09 pm Hi Mtjiputra, the invoices come from their accounts department, so will be a different person from your CSO. Actually, we have not had anything to do with our CSO since going to site. It will probably all go through your SS from now on. Cant wait to see frame photos ! We had our bench and vanity tops go in today, the tiling is all finished and paintwork will be finished in one more day. The plumbing fit out starts tomorrow, and our bathtubs are sitting in the garage ready to go in ! Getting a bit excited now Re: Building our dream home Aspiration 29 with Wisdom Homes 99Mar 21, 2013 5:51 am That's great news Gentoo hope your build runs smoothly, its not too long now before PCI. Has your SS given you a date? Well pipes and drainage and service trenches were completed in the last two days but no sight of frames being delivered yet, will wait for SS to call tomorrow to get an update of when this will happen... Re: Building our dream home Aspiration 29 with Wisdom Homes 100Mar 21, 2013 10:55 am Hi Mtijiputra I am at a similar stage to you we got our slab & then plumbing last week and frame done this week. It was delivered in two stages and the next day went up. You shouldnt have to wait much longer. Fingers crossed we have nice weather for the next few weeks until we have bricks & a roof. Can someone please offer some advice? Im DESPERATE. Because I'm completely and utterly exhausted. How long are variations taking with other companies at the moment?
