Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 26, 2012 4:23 pm Looking for some experiences of people who have arranged installation of a fibreglass pool both before and after construction. I've been advised to do a "sleeper pool" by 2 companies who drop the pool in, fill it and cover it before the house begins. This apparently saves mess and cost of crane. 2 other companies have recommended doing it after to save pool water becoming dirty before its connected and to save hardcover and temporary fencing costs. They reckon cheaper to do it after handover but I am worried this will create mess (windows etc) on the new house? Any feedback? Re: Fibreglass pool - before or after house construction? 3Nov 26, 2012 4:34 pm Hmmmm, my situation may be a little different to yours. Our pool company is installing the pool once the exterior of the house is complete, so once the inside work has begun. We have enough side access for them to fit though, so it's a bit different than if you had no side access. This way we won't have to wait for a pool once we move in, and also no mess in the pool (from construction anyway lol) 1st build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=59376 *New*-2nd build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70324&p=1154282#p1154282 Re: Fibreglass pool - before or after house construction? 4Nov 26, 2012 4:54 pm We have adequate side access to do after the house but seems easier to do with cleared block? I would favour after if possible but worried about mess & dust on everything new Re: Fibreglass pool - before or after house construction? 5Nov 26, 2012 5:01 pm Get it done after. Too many issues getting it done before. My experience is with a concrete pool and having the temporary fencing up during construction has caused difficulties. The pool water will get disgusting during construction - so much simpler to do it after the build if you have the side access. Depends what you're current inclusions are, but we're not including wardrobes and will just use second hand ones until we can save later on to get them built.
