Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 25, 2012 4:19 pm We're finally starting to think about our landscaping and are just not sure about the hard surfaces... We are having "Wattle" aggregate out the front for the driveway and porch, but we're not sure about the back. We're having a pool and want the look to be streamlined and modern. We have a friend doing the aggregate so the cost, while its more than paving, we're getting a great deal and we will be able to squeeze it into the budget (just :0) The trade off though is that it's not going to be honed so will be quite "bumpy". Would you do all aggregate, or just do it out the front? We also have 2 boys aged 6 and 3 - is agg everywhere ok? And if you wouldn't do all agg, what would you suggest for around a pool and alfresco area! Thanks and hoping for some it bought! Aggregate, paving or other? around a pool and alfresco.. 2Nov 25, 2012 4:53 pm We are currently thinking about the same thing.. We are having exposed aggregate for driveway and were considering liquid limestone around the pool out back but have now changed again to preferring exposed aggregate around pool as well. (For similar reasons you mentioned - streamlined etc) I have heard people mention a number of times about the exposed with kids around a pool, but in all honesty its not THAT bad. It's alot harder and less porous than the limestone which I think will need more work - regular sealing etc. And we don't want paving - ants, weeds etc get in cracks.
