Browse Forums Building A New House Re: House west facing 21Nov 29, 2012 8:30 pm Ok i decided to change it again. Now hopefully they can accept this design. - bigger WIR - WIR connects with bathroom - separate wc for upper floor I have reversed it back, so the alfresco will now be in the east side. any major problems with this ? (pending our builder being able to make this adjustment) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: House west facing 22Nov 29, 2012 9:43 pm Looks good. I'd have high strip windows in bed1 on the west wall, with a bank of windows on bed1 north wall but again, that's all I'd change. With that large area of WIR, you may want to talk to a custom wardrobe manufacture to get a good layout that will incorporate things like a full length mirror, shoe racks, etc. Good luck with the builder. ----------------------------------------------- http://pab34newdigs.blogspot.com.au/ ----------------------------------------------- Re: House west facing 23Nov 30, 2012 8:11 am Where will you put the bed? If you put it against the left side wall you will be walking in towards the side of the bed which might not be ideal. Depending what sort of windows you are having at the front, you may or may not be able to put it there. There won't be room against the ensuite wall. The room's 3.6m wide ... king size bed is ~2m wide, assume 60cm each side for bedside tables etc ... you're right, that's only going to allow ~40cm for a door to open & to get past into the room. This way our leisure is large enough to be used... and gonna get rid of the linen as its really bit small, so instead making the robes in bed3 and 4 larger.. Re: House west facing 26Dec 01, 2012 8:19 am I'd leave the linen closet upstairs, especial with 4 bedrooms on this level. Assuming in the future there will be Mum & Dad and 3 kids in the house, that I'll mean at least 8 sets of bed sheets, 10 sets of bath towels not to mention extra blankets, etc. You will also probably keep a vacuum cleaner up stairs as well. ----------------------------------------------- http://pab34newdigs.blogspot.com.au/ ----------------------------------------------- Re: House west facing 27Dec 01, 2012 9:04 am Could you lose a bit of room from your WIR and have the linen cupboard opening into the leisure room? Would still enlarge the robes in beds 3 & 4 and you wouldn't lose much from your WIR. Your right but i feel its just too small. could make space up the top in bed3 and 4 for the kids sheets/linen?... It might be a bit darker in the mornings but the light is still light, so you should be getting it.
