Firstly the Photobucket hosted images have been bothering me so I've relinked them all to another service. They're showing reliably now. I'm also coming back to HomeOne to check other build threads as we prepare to get into our second build. We sold the house shown on this thread about a year and a half ago now. We were originally thinking about getting into a duplex build and did pretty well with that plan, but as we got closer to crunch time we rethought the investment side of that and decided to chance our approach to building a single house. We're just about in D.A for that now, for an Enigma design from Mojo Homes. I'll attach a few photos of our place from when we sold it. We really put our back in to finish a few things with the house right at the end - mostly landscaping. We had one last hassle with our right hand boundary being incorrectly determined by the surveyor right back at the start of the build. Our neighbour found it the hard way when they started their build. Luckily it was mostly just a case of relocating the fence and Coral were very good with it, they handled the lot... with just a little bit of chasing on our part. Here's how she looked all tidied up and with our things put away neatly. Interested to know whether in the final contract did they specify expected completion date? And what clause did they specify if they cannot meet the expected completion date ? I am signing up this week and they are promising completion before Christmas 2019. Let me know please on what your contract stated on completion date Re: Building a modified Coral Noosa 279 - We're In 403May 19, 2019 2:48 pm catchganu Looks great. Let me know please on what your contract stated on completion date Firstly, what type of signing do you mean? Actual fixed price contract signing (post colour selection etc) or putting down a deposit? About our contract - this is testing my memory. I don't know if we had a set completion date, but if we did I never paid any attention to it. Pretty sure we didn't have any non-completion penalties due to the custom nature of our build. If you're signing the contract now and Coral are saying Christmas then I can see that being very possible. Construction is slow to watch day to day but they get a lot done in a few months. Hi JustUs. It's a custom facade. I drew it up based on another house we had seen and Coral adapted it in. Before that we were looking at the Hastings, which is on the Noosa displayed at Chisholm, or a modified Bramston. Hastings... Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Bramston... Is it a modified Hastings and did you have to pay much extra for this facade compared to the Hastings for example. We are building a Noosa 28 in QLD. Would so love if you were able to respond. I have attached the facade I want but yours is lovely so I'd be happy for something similar. We just asked. But keep in mind that most of the house we built was custom, so creating a different facade wasn't so off our process. We kept the facade idea from a McDonald Jones design called Parklane, I drew it up in my house plans that we gave to Coral and could show that it worked with roof lines, interior walls, front setbacks etc etc, and it might have helped that Coral had similar facades that they were comfortable just changing a bit here and there. I get the impression that Coral is now a slightly different company to who we dealt with so perhaps they're not as flexible any more? I can't say. But keep in mind that that practically all house builders are custom builders. There's no such thing as a one size fits all design, so it shouldn't be too much of a stretch to ask if you can have the facade from build X or design Y on your design. For example, the Coral's Santorini design has a similar facade option to what we had - can you ask for that and move the front posts as required? My understanding of the builders thought process with these things is less about if they can build it, and more about the long term viability of the option. Will it leak? etc. If they already have a similar option on their books they should be more comfortable with adding it to your home. Does that help?
