Hi,
Just wondering if only the council can issue the certificate of occupancy or whether private companies are used to inspect the house and issue the certificate.
Also if the plans do not have retaining walls listed and there is a possibility of needing them after handover, will the certificate of occupancy still be provided? I am not mentioning retaining walls to the council at this stage anyway.
My understanding of a certificate of occupancy is the house is checked to make sure it is safe to live in with water, sewerage etc connected, not the backyard needing a retaining wall.
