Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 16, 2012 2:25 pm Hi, We are looking at building our first home in Mt Barker! We are so stuck to know which builder to go with! We really like the idea of statesman homes because of all the added extras they are offering ATM. My SIL had an awful experience with Stirling homes & MIL had a great experience with Fairmont. I was just hoping some of you could offer some advice as we would love to choose and get the process happening. Cheers Mon Re: Which building company to choose! 2Nov 17, 2012 11:20 am HI and welcome to the forum. Can I suggest you explain which Mt Barker you mean as there are several in Australia. even a state would help. You might get more specific advice then.? Re: Which building company to choose! 3Nov 17, 2012 1:46 pm Different people will have great and bad experiences with the same builder. Each and every experience is different. At the end of the day you need to go with the builder that can give you want you need at the price you can afford. Know what is important to you, whether it be the floorplan, price, inclusions etc and seek a builder that can deliver that for you. Having gone with a smaller builder and having them go bankrupt and another fleecing us of a deposit I would go with a company big enough to guarantee they will stay around. Too many builders going into liquidation at the moment. We have decided on Seaford Rise as there was so many extras to consider building in a fire zone! Looks like we will be going with Hickinbotham or Statesman homes Thanks guys!
