Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 12, 2012 11:54 pm Does anyone have a photo of their roof in this colour? We are having Austral 'Grange' bricks http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j223/sammymac_49/House/IMG_6168_zps32b9bfb5.jpg We have been looking at 'Shale Grey' colorbond but would rather a slightly darker grey. Any suggestions or photos? Feel free to follow our build! viewtopic.php?f=31&t=59958 Re: Anyone got a WINDSPRAY colorbond roof? 2Nov 13, 2012 12:03 am Or even Bushland Grey? We are going PGH truffle with surfmist roof. I spose surfmist is too light for you though? Truffle is similar to your brick (but you can't get it in SA) Re: Anyone got a WINDSPRAY colorbond roof? 6Nov 13, 2012 7:53 am We have a Windspray roof, gutters and downpipes. This is the best pic I have of it at the moment, I can take a better one later today if you like? I think it would look lovely with your bricks Re: Anyone got a WINDSPRAY colorbond roof? 7Nov 13, 2012 8:53 am Hi, Do you have the colorbond samples? Looking purely at what goes with the brick I would recommend: Surfmist Shale Grey Ironstone It is difficult to choose from a picture; you need to hold the colorbond sample against the chosen brick. I think Windspray has the wrong toning. Keep in mind once the colorbond roof is up it looks lighter in the sun and darker colours will fade over time. Its so tricky to tell what the true colour is! Even DazzaBs photos all look different. Rellie, thanks for your photo. If its not too much trouble, that'd be great to get another one. I've looked at surfmist and shale grey. Even dune. But as much as they are energy efficient, I'd prefer a slightly darker colour. I'd like something to bring out the grey in the brick. Depending on the light and what's next to it, the brick can look more brown or more grey. Thanks for being so helpful! Feel free to post more photos! Maybe you could ask your builder if they have any display homes with Windspray - I know its a pretty popular colour. 23 Aug 2011: Land settlement 14 Sep 2011: Block levelled 20 Oct 2011: Slab 3 Nov 2011: Frame 10 Feb 2012: Handover http://s1098.photobucket.com/albums/g372/Dazzab6/ Re: Anyone got a WINDSPRAY colorbond roof? 11Nov 13, 2012 9:30 am My bricks are also grey (PGH Sorbetto) and we are going with Dune, as my roof is going to be installed this week sometime. I will post the picture but wouldn't be clear because brick still need to be cleaned and scaffolding still there, I am also little bit worried how Dune would look like along with the grey bricks, would have been safe bet to go with Woodland but wanted to go with light color due to energy issues. Dune is pale grey , we didn't go with WindSPARY as it has blue undertone Re: Anyone got a WINDSPRAY colorbond roof? 14Nov 13, 2012 10:16 am Thanks! I quite like the windspray I can see the blue in it, but it doesnt matter! I had the same trouble trying to find a grey floor tile! Our roof has just gone up and it's surmist but I made hubby check that it was in fact surfmist as it looked darker than what I had thought but it's just a silly trick of the light. I had a grey roof with our last house and loved it, I think it was called woodland grey. With both our houses I knew straight away what colour my roof would be, love a colorbond roof. I think a shade of light grey would work well as you get the grey colour while not being too dark. The trend here where we are is to have dark bricks with surfmist roof and it really looks lovely in person. We have two near us that just went up, should try and get a pic for anyone who is having trouble picturing a surfmist roof with dark bricks. Good luck with your choice. Your house roof does not show rusting other than some surface rust on the flashings. In my opinion you dont need to replace or paint the roof other than treat surface rust… 1 10106 You should pressure clean your roof first and make sure the paint you buy also is anti mould. 4 17586 If so what were the "special circumstances" under which it was granted?
