Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 10, 2012 11:16 am I know this might be a stupid question but seeing as I have not built a house before I figure I will ask anyway. All the documentation I have for the land has a lot number listed on it. When and where do I find out what my house number is? I have read through everything and unless I have missed something I have no idea what number we will be. Re: House number 2Nov 10, 2012 11:18 am I'm pretty sure I found my house number the land data site. Just need to enter the info found in your section 32 and it tells you the rest. http://www.landata.vic.gov.au/ Re: House number 4Nov 10, 2012 12:21 pm I range the council, ask for town planning, they will give you your number. Re: House number 5Nov 10, 2012 1:51 pm We just checked which numbers the houses next to us were. *lol* Settlement: 10.02.13 Slab: 06.03.13 Frame: 08.03.13 Lock-up: 05.04.13 Handover: 03.06.13 Build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=59555 Brisbane Photography Re: House number 6Nov 10, 2012 1:53 pm Or - work it out on the land map. You'll get a pretty close. Especially if you're at the start of the street. Unless someone does something odd. Corners can sometimes get to choose which street they're in ... Re: House number 8Nov 10, 2012 3:36 pm Google maps will help out just as well - just count up or down from the nearest house with a number on the map and you'll be able to figure yours out. Some people apparently have nothing better to do than comment on other people's sigs. Re: House number 9Nov 10, 2012 4:15 pm I looked on landgate, it only showed the titled ones, so I looked at nearby ones and figured out what mine was based on theirs.. BUT I was wrong! Don't know how or why, but I was way off, thought it was 24 but it's 6. Lol this doesn't help you. But I thought I was so smart figuring it out myself! I know plenty of streets where Google has it plain wrong, way out in some cases. In WA house numbers are assigned under the local government act so your best bet is to ring your local council and ask them. They should know, numbers are supposed to be allocated when the subdivision is created. Re: House number 11Nov 10, 2012 8:19 pm I have emailed the council. I have no houses next to me, I am the only one there lol Google maps doesn't work because its a new street lol Thanks for the responses, at least I am not the only crazy one out there trying to find my house number lol Re: House number 13Nov 10, 2012 11:49 pm Don't trust google map on any new street or subdivided block. But then once you find out your number you can submit change request to google map thou. They will then review and tell you if will amend or else. I have done this for my block and it is a good thing at least if your friend want to go to your place and use google map for navigation, they will be able to find you. Re: House number 14Nov 11, 2012 12:33 pm Bah to all of the naysayers - I should have said "count up from an existing house in the street" (what I said did imply to do so on google maps so I apologies for that) but I guess that's my fault. On most subdivided blocks or new streets google maps usually only shows the lot numbers (and they are often wrong I'll admit), but checking the nearby street numbers and counting up from there worked for us. Some people apparently have nothing better to do than comment on other people's sigs. Re: House number 15Nov 12, 2012 1:06 pm I went onto the Landgate website, before my land was titled, and there is a section on there where you can buy your title certificate. I just popped my lot number and street name in and town and it came up with with my my street number! Obviously I couldnt do anything elae with it because it wasn't titled, but it does have some info on the website You’re on the right track, wire brush in a grinder then a zinc rich epoxy primer then a top coat of some sort, like a waterproofing membrane.
