Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Boutique Homes 83Dec 03, 2013 7:13 pm Yep. Thanks guys. Finally we'll start to be able to see our dirt become our palace. Boutique shut up shop from the 20th Dec to 6th Jan over the break, so it'll be nice to have something happening before then. They have plans to have the slab down by Christmas but that's dependent on weather etc so not holding our breath with how its been lately. A drought over summer I'm praying for Re: Boutique Homes 85Dec 03, 2013 8:59 pm Hi thought I'd join in on this thread as well. We are first time builders building in the Geelong region and have just signed our PWC. Was hoping for our colour/elec appt to happen before Xmas but doesn't look like they can fit us in. We started looking at building since July and after talking with various builders we felt really comfortable with Boutique. Hoping this same experience continues. I don't cope very well with crap customer service after my money has been taken so I can only hope we have a relatively smooth journey without too many headaches along the way. I think the sales consultant has already worked out I don't like to be stuffed around lol. Also after too much research online with various builders I can only wonder how I'm going to feel for the next 10 months or so. Just wondering if anyone can recommend an Independent Building Inspector in the geelong region? Looking forward to hearing everyone's stories. Re: Boutique Homes 87Dec 04, 2013 5:52 am Hi BoutiqueBuild, welcome! Which house are you building? We're using Houspect for our independent inspections and they cover the Geelong region. They've been really prompt and even though we've only had one stage inspected so far we've been happy with their service. Here's their website: http://www.houspect.com.au/victoria/about.html Re: Boutique Homes 89Dec 04, 2013 11:37 am Genghis I've thought about a blog and had been on my agenda, its just finding the time. Maybe I could start one from the construction stage. Welcome BoutiqueBuild. Look forward to hearing more about your progress along the way. We're also down Geelong way. Re: Boutique Homes 90Dec 04, 2013 1:07 pm Sounds like everyone's builds are coming along. Keep the pics coming guys love to see it. We have our colour consultation booked for 16th Dec which is great. Wanting to hold off now though on building until about May so we move in with some nicer weather. The waiting is going to drive me insane but anyway. Ghengis your views look amazing!!! Jealous!!! Boutiquebuild we are also building in Geelong. Look forward to hearing more about your journey! Re: Boutique Homes 93Dec 05, 2013 7:06 pm Well emailed my consultant as I haven't heard from her in a while. And am still waiting to receive my drafted plans on our block. And also am waiting on a answer to a question I asked her weeks ago. Which she replied she would get back me with options in the next couple of days. Maybe it was a typo and she ment months ? But anyway will see how long it takes this time. What are your guys opinions on a fare response time ? I mean even if the response is "I relieved your email and I will get back to you shortly with an answer" Re: Boutique Homes 94Dec 05, 2013 7:25 pm She should definitely respond within 24 hours, even if she doesn't have the answer. It even says this on their website: "At Boutique, we don’t just want the end product to be special - the whole experience should be memorable. That means no stress. In fact the only fuss should be over choosing your design, not coordinating the build. Our pledge is evidenced by more than mere words; choose Boutique and you’ll see it in action. We will: Treat all customers with respect and courtesy Respond to all communication within 24 hours Listen to what our customers are saying and understand their needs..." My consultant was pretty responsive with my queries, but she often waited longer than 24 hours to respond. Re: Boutique Homes 95Dec 05, 2013 8:15 pm We are building the Riviera 29 with a few minor changes like the laundry swapped with the home office, WIL removed to make WIR bigger, WIP extended to make it a butlers, garage slightly bigger for hubby and now wondering if it's worth it to upgrade to the cornerless stacker alfresco door. Hubby is a joiner so he is fitting out all our wardrobes, laundry and butler pantry and making all the built in joinery in the niches in living areas. Shame he's not allowed do our kitchen but I think it will be less stress for him as he will have a big list as it is already. We signed our PWC two Mondays ago and was told we should have one of the girls making contact with us within a week. This Monday coming will be 2 weeks and haven't heard anything. I'm hoping they call before the 20th. Will wait and see. Re: Boutique Homes 96Dec 05, 2013 9:10 pm Yes I agree genghis77 with in 24hrs even if its to agnolage your email and give you a time frame . A realistic time frame that they will have an answer. And I am in the same boat boutique. Just want things confirmed before there break Re: Boutique Homes 97Dec 06, 2013 1:37 pm Hey Boutiquebuild as an indication we signed our PWC on 29/06 and although a few things have changed and our sales consultant was unwell we are only just getting our colour consultation done on the 16th of this month! There was a 6 week wait to book in with that alone. They take ages!!! Not saying it will take you as long as us but I just wouldn't hold your breath for anything prior to Xmas Re: Boutique Homes 98Dec 06, 2013 3:14 pm [quote="Pippa1987"]Hey Boutiquebuild as an indication we signed our PWC on 29/06 and although a few things have changed and our sales consultant was unwell we are only just getting our colour consultation done on the 16th of this month! When we initially spoke to BH I said to them I need appts before Christmas otherwise we weren't going to go ahead and was told there shouldn't be any issues with that. Was told the same thing three or 4 more times the next couple of weeks but once we paid the deposit I was told 2 days later unfortunately we can't fit you in before we close. We were told this the same day our cat was put to sleep so I had no energy to get upset at that stage. Hopefully will at least get our pre start pack soon. They did let us have a brief walk through of the colour studio to get an idea of what upgrades we might want. I'll give them credit for that. Re: Boutique Homes 99Dec 06, 2013 4:05 pm Boutiquebuild, we signed our PWC at the end of July and had our contract signing/pre-start early September. And we were "fast-tracked" due to finance deadlines. In other news, we had our frame inspected yesterday. Three defects were found which I don't think is too bad. Here are some pics of the frame if anyone's interested: From the back: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ From the front: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Dining room: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We might try and visit the site this weekend to see if any more progress has been made. I'm bummed that our block is so small (looks even smaller now that the house is going up) but what can you do when you have a tight budget. 10 15744 Ask for references and speak to them.
