Hi Melvinglenncallejo, that alarm system sounds reasonable? Do you have a contact number for your electrician?

No electrician required, just a set of rechargeable batteries for both cameras, and then you can move them around whenever you want. I can get the system for around $450. Uploads all the footage to the internet/cloud straight away, which is super easy with NBN. Worth looking at if you want a simple camera system without the expense of the electrician. It doesn't have an alarm or sound recording, though, but I just want it as a deterrent, mostly. Re: Boutique Homes 1805Feb 09, 2016 10:40 am @digitalnash hubby had a look at Arlo, we might use it internally but not external. I think battery can be quite expensive and I will forget changing them send from tapatalk Re: Boutique Homes 1808Feb 09, 2016 12:10 pm Hi guys How long did everyone's slab sit for prior to the frame going up? Our friends are building with Orbit homes a street away from where we are building. There builder is letting their slab sit for 7 days prior to framing. I spoke to my pre start today and she said they will usually put frame up within 24-48 hours. I requested that we would like it to sit for 7 days and her response was I don't think you can do that. Anyone had any luck requesting a longer break between the two stages? One week into build and still yet to hear from site supervisor. Only got through to consultant in office after a series of left messages and emails. We are overseas next week so wanted it noted on our file. Her response I don't think ur slab will be down by then so we won't need u to make payment. Re: Boutique Homes 1809Feb 09, 2016 4:06 pm Quick update. After calming down and surveying the damage, it looks like we got off fairly lightly....considering. We still have most of our appliances (THANK GOD), they only made off with the microwave. Window is easily repaired too. We're also looking at the Arlo system. Cops suggested something that has night vision and preferably an alarm as that would usually scare someone off. I'd also like to specially mention Boutique Homes and the assistance they're providing us. They were under no obligation to help, but they're doing their best to assist us in getting everything back in place and repaired. Very thankful for their help and means we most likely will not have to go through our insurer Re: Boutique Homes 1810Feb 09, 2016 5:28 pm Good to hear on your situation JP79. There are individual alarms for windows thats just $20 in bunnings, put dead bolts in all your windows and doors as well. There are DIY alarms as well that are easy to install. In my opinion only the front yard CCTV should be continously recording. The rest should be set to motion detect this will save you space on your DVR or NAS storage. 3 stages of defense for my house 1st stage : CCTV 2nd stage : Alarms 3rd stage : Full size cardboard of Tony Abbott wearing his red speedo trunks. Re: Boutique Homes 1811Feb 10, 2016 10:37 am I have NBN, now, too! Things are slowly tapering to a close, I think. Boutique was really good in letting me get in and the NBN guys in to install the equipment, and once it was in, it took literally all of 10 minutes to get on and connected to the internet. Very fun. Our final inspection is now on Monday afternoon. Anyone know how long it should take for us to get the keys and take ownership of everything, assuming there are no major issues found at the inspection? Anyone know how long it should take for us to get the keys and take ownership of everything, assuming there are no major issues found at the inspection? Our NHP was on a Friday and we found a few issues. Then we had a second NHP in 7 days (Friday again). We picked up keys the following Wednesday. After you sign off on your house, call your Client Liaison and make a time to pick up the keys. We would have picked ours up on the Friday afternoon, but we had to wait until our bank had paid. That's the only reason we didn't get our keys until the Wednesday. Re: Boutique Homes 1813Feb 10, 2016 11:02 am Hmm. OK. This isn't the 'NHP' inspection, this is the final building inspection from New Home Inspections... I guess I should call up the office and find out when that can be booked, because if it could be for the following day, or couple of days, that would be ideal. Re: Boutique Homes 1814Feb 10, 2016 1:49 pm Hi Baneshouse, slabs only need to cure for 24 - 48 hours these days with the chemical make up that is now put into them. your slab continues to completely "cure" for years after construction has been completed but it is perfectly suitable to commence frame works a day or two after it has been poured. theres no need to stress Re: Boutique Homes 1817Feb 11, 2016 8:23 am Just got some alarm quote - one provider quoted $1800 for Bosch 3000 with 4 pet friendly sensor 😬 By the way, anyone upgraded to 3 phase electricity? I was planning to install a split type aircon as well didn't know it needs a 3 phase electricity. You are correct on the 1.8K CCTV quote I got the same from another provider (I might consider the Arlo wireless for the perimeter CCTV) and just do a DIY for the front (for continuous recording) might get the Hickvision I just need to run a CAT5/6 cable towards my NBN port area For your 3 phase electricity issue (see below). "I was quoted $660, now they are saying it is actually $1500, because the standard specifications are 8 meters and I needed 19 meters. A rough quote from a sparkie would be awesome!!!!!" Here is a rough guide as well (from the Brisbane area): Convert phase of supply – standard underground $450 (excl. GST) $675 (excl. They finally get back to me with price $1370 for upgrade $660 for the surcharge protection. I'm on the fence on this. Most people say you won't need it unless using a high power items in your shed. But others also said, if you ever need one, it'll be more expensive to retrofit Talked to air con provider, he said for we don't need three phase lol send from tapatalk Re: Boutique Homes 1820Feb 12, 2016 2:11 pm Ugh. Throw a spanner in the works on my place. The final inspection was meant to be on Monday, and everything all fine and dandy, but then this afternoon my SS calls me to tell me his boss has been through the house, and isn't happy with the final state of it - and wants to push our final inspection back A WHOLE WEEK! AAAARRRGH. This is ridiculous. Nothing aggravates me more than someone pushing back a deadline to get something done, and then renegging on that deadline AGAIN due to not finishing what they'd promise to get fixed. I'm currently waiting for a call back from the SS's boss to vent my complaints. 10 15745 Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 74708 |
