Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Boutique Homes 1521Nov 11, 2015 7:46 pm Our build is going great - we now have stairs - but now also locked out. I'm so in love with our house. It's hard to believe it is actually going to be ours. A landscaper came to quote some retaining walls we need and said the workmanship looks spot on - particularly the brickwork. That is so comforting to hear and makes me so excited. Anyone else have an update? Blog: www.dapplegrey.com.au Re: Boutique Homes 1522Nov 11, 2015 7:47 pm After a very very long wait (20 months) our land has finally titled and we are reaching settlement tomorrow! Hopefully if everything else runs smoothly we will start construction early in the new year! Re: Boutique Homes 1524Nov 11, 2015 7:50 pm Congratulations baneshouse - which house are you building? And wow 20 months - that's ages, I thought it took me ages to get to site, but I think you are taking that (unwanted) award. Blog: www.dapplegrey.com.au Re: Boutique Homes 1526Nov 11, 2015 7:59 pm We are building the Barcelona 26. It's been a very long wait and tested our patience at times. Our Prestart consultant goes on maternity leave next week will be sad to see her go. By far she has been our saviour during this time. The unexpected lengthy delay caused some issues with Boutique and extra charges they tried to put on us - talking upwards of 10K. Hoping that now it all runs smoothly from here on in. I've loved watching everyone else's homes take shape. Re: Boutique Homes 1527Nov 11, 2015 8:03 pm I'm bad donaldouk - as I live around the corner I drive past daily. Hate it if nobody is on site. Lol. When I drove past tonight I noticed the new front door so I got out of the car for a closer look. While stalking, the SS turned up so I got to go inside and see the stairs. Yeah, no more ladder!!! Most of the doors are on and some archs and skirts. Very exciting!!! Blog: www.dapplegrey.com.au Re: Boutique Homes 1528Nov 11, 2015 8:06 pm Once it starts baneshouse it really does steam ahead. I haven't actually spoken to our sales guy since we moved to construction. The Barcelona is lovely. Hope you can still remember all your colour choices!!! Blog: www.dapplegrey.com.au Re: Boutique Homes 1529Nov 12, 2015 11:58 am Hey guys, just a quickie regarding progress payments. We've just been invoiced for Lock-up stage. The HIA contract states: "When a home's external wall cladding and roof covering is fixed, the flooring is laid etc...." So if I go and visit my house today, should I have flooring down? ie. carpet and floorboards? Re: Boutique Homes 1530Nov 15, 2015 8:15 pm JP79 - we just paid lock up too - no carpet or tiles or floorboards for us. But all doors are on and it it literally locked up. Hope that helps??? Blog: www.dapplegrey.com.au Re: Boutique Homes 1531Nov 16, 2015 7:41 am Thanks donovansdaily, I was told by someone that the flooring they would be referring to would be a floor on the second story (even if it's a temp floor). Has your SS given you any indication as to when they're hoping to get you in? Re: Boutique Homes 1532Nov 16, 2015 10:03 am Not really JP79, he did say that it should be painted, tiled (wet areas) and cabinetry in by Christmas which would be great. I just saw painters there now, well I think painters - he was in white overalls??? Lol. There is a short delay on our kitchen so painting is starting before the kitchen, which is fine. We upgraded the painting to 3 coats and it's a big house so it will take a while I think. It's so exciting seeing it all come together. Our SS is fantastic and I feel confident in all the trades we have had - here's hoping our painters are awesome too!!! When are you expecting to turn the key? Blog: www.dapplegrey.com.au Re: Boutique Homes 1533Nov 16, 2015 3:29 pm Our SS has said he is trying to get us in before Christmas, which would be ideal as we have 3 weeks off over the Christmas period. But I told him not to rush as we'd rather wait and have it all done correctly rather than rushed. Our painters are due to start this week. Re: Boutique Homes 1534Nov 16, 2015 3:39 pm Sorry if I have asked before JP79 - but which house are you building? Yeah I'd prefer to wait as well, but it will be hard seeing it sitting there with nothing happening over Christmas, and being so close to finished. At least by Christmas next year we should all be nice and settled which will be lovely! Blog: www.dapplegrey.com.au Re: Boutique Homes 1536Nov 18, 2015 4:45 pm We are super close to doneski. Had a quick inspection on Tuesday, then we have the "new home presentation" booked for Monday. Very happy with how the place looks & how our choices have come together. Love your kitchen too. I'm so jealous right now. What colour is your floor? It looks fantastic! Loving the timber tiles too. Can't wait to see it furnished. Blog: www.dapplegrey.com.au Re: Boutique Homes 1538Nov 18, 2015 7:45 pm They are category 3 boards - the range was called Provincial and the colour called Van Gogh. Not sure if it's even on offer by Boutique now? The supplier - Hynes Tiles / Unique Timber Floors - seems to have disappeared?! Their website is now 'under construction'. Somehow we have ended up with the flooring we picked though. Re: Boutique Homes 1540Nov 22, 2015 8:05 pm Hi Jeeman - I think that's what we have. They were CAT 4. We are having Spotted Gum. From memory it was about another $6K for CAT 4 (but the cost would depend on the amount you are using, so probably best to speak to your sales consultant) Blog: www.dapplegrey.com.au 10 15761 Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 74717 |
