We just got a quote for insurance and its $$$$$ We don't remember insurance being so expensive when we lived in the original house 6 years ago Where is your build Saint Girl? (Sorry if I have asked that already) Blog: www.dapplegrey.com.au Re: Boutique Homes 1642Jan 17, 2016 9:57 pm Wow. Councils requirements can be very bizarre sometimes ? Hope you get your certificate soon! Boutique Homes 1643Jan 18, 2016 7:41 am Hi donovansdaily, We are in Parkdale, where are you building? We hoped that by building to the correct specifications, according to the conditions set out by Melb Water and the council, that the insurance premiums would be favorable!? Re: Boutique Homes 1644Jan 18, 2016 8:17 pm Apparently AustralBricks has a design showroom in the CBD, 5 mins walk from my workplace They don't have all Victorian range, but enough for me to have an idea. The colour of the bricks are very different to the brochure! I really like the Ultra Smooth range (top left 2, Jazz and Chilli)... that's group 15 and the colour consultant hasn't come back with price list. I hope it's not insanely expensive to upgrade How do you peeps decide on bricks? I like lighter colour but many people I know seems to choose darker tones (and they ended up gorgeous) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Boutique Homes 1645Jan 18, 2016 9:12 pm I hope Whittlesea council is not as stringent...looks like all your houses are started to form or almost a done deal wish all the best. I hope we will be in same boat by end of this year. Title won't be done till April. I hope you can all share all your good and bad experiences with different tradies (post build) so that we will know who we can get after as well. --------------------------------------------- Building a St. Tropez 25 - Boutique Homes Aurora Estate Wollert - Victoria Re: Boutique Homes 1646Jan 18, 2016 9:24 pm 7th_Calvary, if you don't mind me asking which estate are you building at? https://letsbuildwithboutique.wordpress.com Re: Boutique Homes 1647Jan 18, 2016 9:34 pm EN710 - we have Praline (top right in your pic) and I LOVE it. From memory it was $1500 extra - but removed the render at the front so you can see them, and we got a credit back of about $500 I think. Saint Girl - I'm in Ascot Vale. And SS said we might be finished first week of Feb. I can't control my excitement. Hubby told me to relax as there will most likely be defects. The flooring should happen this week - looking forward to seeing that.
