Aussie, I'm glad there seems to be light at the end of the tunnel. Fingers crossed everything gets sorted so you can pick up the keys next Friday. Boutique install the appliances after handover to reduce the risk of theft - I think this is a process for most builders because apparently the theft of appliances from newly built homes is common.
baneshouse - Aussie's advice is gold, as is that huge 'Things you forget' thread. It's massive, but it's worth taking the time to read it. We read it thoroughly and still forgot stuff (eg venting the rangehood through the roof). Another thing I'd suggest is to make sure you get enough clearance under your sliding doors for your floors. We had our floors installed post-handover and it was a very tight squeeze. In the end we had to get a chippy to take a bit off the sliding doors in the kitchen/living area.
We also didn't get any freebies, although just before we signed our PWC Boutique changed their premium standard features (eg stone benches in the bathrooms which they never used to have) and so they kindly included these free upgrades into our PWC even though the house model we'd chosen had already been phased out.
fruitlubes - good luck with your build! Keep us posted as to how you're going.
