I hear ya @QuarumNibblet. Our initial discussions were all very optimistic re: start dates and build times. The reality is that it's taking way longer than we had hoped but still well within the contractual agreement. We decided to factor in rent as part of the cost of build and have made arrangements with the landlord to extend our rental agreement month by month so we aren't forced to move out before the house is ready. I've seen that happen before and it is always a very stressful experience which overshadows what should be the joy of taking possession of a new home. A friend of mine is going through this right now. His family are camping on the floor of a relative's house for a few weeks while their new house (not a Boutique) is completed and final defects are addressed.
Our place is progressing but to us it seems painfully slow. Friends who have driven past however, always say "Wow, it's going up so quickly!". Even builders have said that to us. We have to learn patience!
