With the sidelight window next to the door we left it as clear (too many decisions to make on the day & we couldn't decide on the spot. It was going to cost an extra $300+ for the next finish up), which I am now regretting not getting, as having seen it on the weekend, it is a larger window than I was expecting.
I've got a frosted sidelight but only realised when I saw it on the weekend that it's the only single glazed piece in the whole house. I specified 'double-glazed throughout', so wondering if it should extend to this piece. I wouldn't imagine the heat loss through this would be significant.
Bandha we requested double glazed doors & windows for the entire house including the sidelight. We specifically brought up the sidelight & the horizontal kitchen window with our consultant to make sure they were included in the quote for the double glazing.
When we went to visit the site on the weekend we saw the sidelight & it looked like it was only single glazed to us in a timber frame. We've had double glazed timber windows in our previous house so are well aware what they look like. All of the other windows were double glazed.
We came home & checked our signed drawings of the elevations & saw that the sidelight was indicated as being double glazed.
My husband sent off a query with the relevant elevation to our CLE today - reply was that we had paid for double glazing so the side light was included & was double glazed. Er, we know that we paid for it but who has actually checked? So another query was sent by my husband and we are now waiting for confirmation from our site supervisor. They still seem to think it is doubleglazed however our CLE did say it would be replaced if it wasn't.
