Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 06, 2012 10:28 am Hey guys Have already chosen our colours but now I am a little worried as the colour we chose for our feature looks a bit green and we're not sure if it goes with our roof tile selection Our outside looks like this (please excuse the shading on the pic it is just for illistrative puproses) The colours we chose were Main Render: Solver Southwards Feature wall: Solver Steeldust Roof tiles: Monier Prime, Wild Rice flat profile Garage: fineline caoba Gutters & Fascia: Surfmist Entrance doors: Solver Rosewood Window frames: Black Brick (not visible from front): Austral pumphouse red Would you guys think it looks all over the show in terms of colours? Have no idea how to use any design programs to assist with a preview and the builder can't do that either. We are early enough in construction to change colours. Really dont want to change the roof tiles, the partner thinks we can change the garage door and it will look okay but im not too sure. Hoping someone here has some good advice? I would ditch the timber door and go for Colorbond Windspray or Ironstone also adding colour swatches here would help people help you. Re: Facade Colour Help - are we panicking over nothing? 3Nov 06, 2012 1:02 pm Thanks for the link Donna. A colour swatch would indeed help - have one below. the two swatches on the bottom are our render colours, the roof tile is on top. Garage door to the left and the window frames are black. Hope this sort of helps. I think the colours look a bit strange in the photo due to the lighting? Or Surfmist to go with the Roof Re: Facade Colour Help - are we panicking over nothing? 7Nov 06, 2012 1:28 pm Guys i could swear that green looked grey when we picked it. Some pretty bad choices! You probably are worrying over nothing. I would still ditch the timber door if you are going for grey's. Re: Facade Colour Help - are we panicking over nothing? 15Nov 06, 2012 2:22 pm Yeah I have a few addresses of what people have chosen Just got this from Dan and new home visuals - i gave him all the colours and he got it done so fast! Steeldust looks different there yet again! it looks more like what we saw it on the swatch as. really hoping it was just the lighting and the camera we used that pronounced the steeldust as a greeny grey I think changing either the door or the garage would be good seeing as they arent matching what do you guys think? Your timber colours don’t have to match just to blend. There are a lot of colours happening; keep it simple – less is more. Here is another more architectural option: Try to get the guttering and fascia colour to your roof tile right. On one image the tile looks light grey on the other image the tile looks more like paperbark. Main Render: Same as gutter and fascia colour, Surfmist??? Feature wall: Colorbond Headlands (creates a link with the brick even if not visible from front) Roof tiles: Monier Prime, Wild Rice flat profile Garage Door: Surfmist Gutters & Fascia: Surfmist??? Entrance doors: paint Black same as window frames Window frames: Black Brick (not visible from front): Austral pumphouse red Cheers Re: Facade Colour Help - are we panicking over nothing? 17Nov 06, 2012 4:51 pm Daedalus Yeah I have a few addresses of what people have chosen Just got this from Dan and new home visuals - i gave him all the colours and he got it done so fast!
