We've signed up to build a single storey house. And was quoted $2090 by our builder for the following NBN pack.
STRUCTURED CABLING - NBN CO FIBRE OPTIC INTERMEDIATE PACK - SINGLE STOREY
Provide NBN Co intermediate fibre optic system including:
- Clipsal Comms Cabinet (M127/10) installed in garage (Builder to allow 460w x 695h x 200d opening
-1 x 1-in-6-out TV amplified splitter
-1 x data module
-1 x 8 port data switch
-8 x Cat6 patch leads
-1 x RG6 TV point
-1 x Cat 6 data point
-1 x Cat 6 phone point
-1 x RG6 cable from roof space to cabinet for future antenna by Owner after handover
-1 x 25mm conduit with drawstring from cabinet to meter box lead in location.
1 x DGPO in Garage outside cabinet.
1 x SGPO in Garage inside cabinet.
Note : Standard TV and phone point is deleted when above package is selected.
Is the price to expensive?
Do we need all the features?
Cheaper alternative?
I believe majority of the cost is for the builder to allow opening for comms cabinet.
I know NBN is still very new, however, anyone with experience/knowledge to share.
