Re: They've started!!!!! 83Jun 02, 2008 1:25 pm Haven't got a handover date as yet, but going by the contract it should be in September sometime. They have agreed to hold the items until the house is ready, which I estimate to be in about 3 months. Re: They've started!!!!! 94Jun 15, 2008 4:06 pm Wow - it seems to all happening so fast. I don't dare look at a furniture shop or even a catalogue at the moment. I want to go on a serious shop but I need to wait till it is finished and I know the budget is still intact. I am petrified all our old stuff will have to go in our brand new house! Fi has moved in!! Re: They've started!!!!! 95Jun 15, 2008 4:36 pm I was going to wait too, until I saw the promotion then decided to get it now and get Furniture Galore to hold it - no way I can fit it in my unit at the moment.
Just have to figure out what to do with some of the old stuff as I don't want to take it all with me, and some of it's a bit too crappy and falling apart to advertise on here ![]() Dana -------------------------- Building with DFH - carpet installed! Re: They've started!!!!! 96Jun 15, 2008 4:59 pm It's looking great Dana. The benchtops you've selected are really nice.
Hopefully Furniture Galore comes through for you - if it's the one in Hoppers Crossing, they made the same promises to me but refused to fulfil the promise later, I had to take delivery when they got the stock in which was 7 weeks after ordering. They also did the same thing to a friend of mine. I'd recommend getting the manager of the store to put it in writing that they agree to hold the furniture until you are ready to take delivery, which will be when your house is ready. Unfortunately, the ordering and delivery for Furniture Galore happen through a central depot and they really don't care what the managers of their stores have said. Received keys to my new home on 16/5/08 ![]() Re: They've started!!!!! 98Jun 15, 2008 8:31 pm Yikes, methinks I'll get the manager to confirm that they'll hold it in writing. Thanks for the heads up Colleen - I have to get back to her tomorrow anyway to confirm the colour for the sofa as I forgot to take my cushion with me.
If worse comes to worse and they do stuff up, there's a branch of the store not too far from where I am at the moment and I can cram the boxes of assemble it yourself stuff in the garage and possibly the sofa and mattress - I can't get the car in there at the moment anyway due to stuff awaiting hard rubbish day. Spare room hasn't got a hope - can barely get in the door there now ![]() Hopefully they won't stuff up ![]() Dana -------------------------- Building with DFH - carpet installed! Re: They've started!!!!! 100Jun 16, 2008 12:14 am Dana,
Very nice Smokey Topaz benchtop colour... I can feel your excitement.. I would feel that way if we were in that stage already.. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Built the Nevada 42 Next project - landscaping! Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 3052 ![]() |
