I'm only at the very beginning of a home build journey. I'm currently looking at building the Lexington Q1 with Henley. I noticed more than a few people on the forum have built this house so hopefully I can get some good ideas or lessons learned.
I am considering starting with standard electrical plan and putting batten light points where I would want downlights and/or light fitting installed after handover. Has anyone done this with Henley? Any issues to watch out for?
I was told by the sales guy that there isn't really an electrical appointment where you sit down with an electrical contractor. You just mark up an electrical plan and submit it at your colour appointment. Is this true for those building with Henley? I thought an electrical appointment was standard with most builders.
Has anyone opted for their Fibre Optic Silver pack? It says it includes, Conduit, Earthing of ONT and lead in cables, double power point for PSU, Hub Enclosure, 2 x data, 2 x phone, 2 x TV and 2 x Foxtel HD points. Is the Hub enclosure the distribution point which contains an Ethernet switch etc? Is this actually installing the NBN Co provided equipment such as the Network Termination Device? I will be building in Taylors Hill Victoria so would like to be as prepared as possible for NBN.
Lastly what are people's experience with Henley and doing flooring after handover. I've been offered a flooring pack for timber laminate and carpet for $7,999 which doesn't include timber laminate in Study, Theatre and Hallway to bedrooms. I'm thinking I may be better off doing after handover. Are there any issues to watch for such as skirting etc?
Any advice or experiences shared would be greatly appreciated. I'd particularly like to hear from anyone building with Henley or better yet the Lexington Q1.
Cheers
