I have asked for confirmation tomorrow that the SS actually has the file. My 2.5 year old DS was standing in the boot of our 4WD yesterday while we were watering plants on the block and he fell out of the car - not sure how that happened, but he ended up falling on his wrist and breaking both of the bones in his wrist. As the bones were out of place he had to be taken to theatre late last night to have it put back into place and plastered. This morning they realised that they had plastered too far up his arm, so it had to be cut back and then re-inforced with fiberglass. He has been a trooper and everyone that he has come in contact with is surprised with his pain threshold and if you didnt have the xrays, you wouldnt think he had a broken wrist. Waiting to have his plaster cut down Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Now with its purple fiberglass Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I was impressed with the phone call yesterday from the SS. He has said that we will have the site pegged out within a week, and by the end of the month we will have slab, frames and bricklayers on site. I am hoping for bricks and roof by Christmas - am I being too optimistic??? You have such a brave little man, he is very, very special (and he is very cute).... He really has been through a lot in the last few days..... Love the purple cast... times certainly have changed.... I was surprised that I got the call from the SS. I didn't think that it would happen and had actually forgotten about it with the dramas of Harry yesterday. My parents saw the block today for the first time since it was cleared and cut. My dad was shocked and said "you really ripped those trees out' he thought it looked good though and thinks it looks much bigger. We will have pegout on Monday and should have the cut and fill Thursday or Friday next week. Slab down within 7 days of the cut. My main question was what we will have done by Christmas. We have friends coming out for Christmas from England and I wanted as much done externally as we could. Weather permitting we should have the house fully bricked and the top level roof on. I also asked about how long we are looking for the build to take. We have 40 week contract, and I was hoping for it to take less time than that. He has said that it will take about 30 weeks with the size of the house. I am happy that he has been honest and given me a realistic time frame. He has adapted really quickly. He is right handed (where the rest of us are lefties) and he has automatically just started using his left hand to do anything. Rawson has written me a letter, but that means nothing as they are not going to meet the dates they stated. Should i call OSR and explain or should i leave it and hope that Rawson get a move on and get a slab down soon.[/quote] Hi Jen, sorry to butt in here but I followed some posts left on the Clarendon forum as the posts made me think we had a Rawson staff member trying to convert us and then I saw your post. It is very easy to get an extension with OSR as I have done it myself twice already. First time I was granted a 6 month extension as my hubby hurt himself at work and then got another 3 month extension as we had to dump Masterton for their negligence and changed to Clarendon. They are very understanding of these circumstances so you should not have any issues. OSR have an email address which is duties@osr.nsw.gov.au you will need to write a detailed letter and include some proof that Rawson have delayed things and email it through. Make sure you clearly mark the subject as 'Request for extension of No stamp Duty under NSW Home builders Scheme' To be safe ask for an extension till 31/12/12 as you can never quite tell what will happen with builders. You will get a letter back within about 1-2 weeks normally granting your extension. Mostly everyone ends up going over their 6 months. We were told once to not worry about asking for an extension and to simply tell OSR when the slab is down and why it was late. I have a legal background and I know from my experience that with anything government related you are always best to ask for an extension on something before it has expired cause after it has expired the outcome you get is 'it is expired' and rejected. The key is to not tell them that you have an extension or when it expires after you have been granted a new date or they will most likely take advantage of that. Good luck!! Barrington is a petite company, but they seem to be getting a lot of work atm - hence our paperwork dragging out forever. We are also on an acre Jen, luckily without the tree issues you have been plagued with, although I would have loved some established trees (other than cyprus :\ ) Re: Mat and Jens Port Stephens Rawson Build - Site Peg Monda 38Nov 05, 2012 6:50 am Sorry Kelbelle, when I was reading and replying last night I was on my phone and I couldnt see your signature. I love the house that you are building. We were originally going to build a long 'ranch' style house, but as the block we bought had a building envelope which the council would not allow us to change, we had to go with the double storey house. We still have 27 gum trees left, and a few more of those will have to go later, but at least they have been removed within a decent distance of the house. Good luck for your peg out today!!! I will have to follow along with your build as well. Rawson charges about $500.00 to undermount the sink and I didn't want to pay for that, but I had trouble finding a non undermount sink that was square and didn't have a draining board. So I had to go with the undermount at a cost of $1,250.00 - I never thought I would spend that much on a sink.
