I might have to ask Santa for a portrait lense, or get my brother to bring me one from Taiwan when he returns home for a Christmas visit. My brother is a fabulous photographer (as was my Dad), my brother tried to teach us how to use it but ended up confusing us. We have the 2 other lenses which are great, but still don't know how to use those properly.... Who wrote the book? I have looked it up and there are a few. Built the Seaview 36 with Rawson Homes - Read about it on my blog http://lamaisondemorgan.blogspot.com.au/ Re: Mat and Jens Port Stephens Rawson Build - We have been c 82Nov 15, 2012 9:16 am Quote: Who wrote the book? If you look on http://www.booko.com.au you can type up any book name and it will give you the cheapest place to get it from. You should be able to get it for about $20.00 Quote: P.S Looking forward to the slab... I am looking forward to anything at this stage. I am really cross. I was told piers and plumbing started by the end of the week. I have just spoken to my SS and nothing will be happening this week. He is still waiting for the surveyors to give him the pegout drawing and he can't do anything with out that. He is hoping he will get it today or tomorrow and we may have piers, earliest Tuesday next week and then it will be another week before a slab. I can't believe how slow this is - a joke. By the time we have the slab down it will be 4 weeks since it was supposed to start. I have put in a call to the manager today to find out where the peg out report is and no call back. Driveway before the cut - you can see that the gate was nearly touching the ground. It swings from the right post and was nearly touching the left Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The driveway now Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ This is how useful the gate is now - I don't think it will be keeping anyone in Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ You can see how far the block has been cut, as the original level was where the fence is on the left hand side. It is even lower where the garage will start Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ How far we are up compared to the neighbour - our dirt starts at one of their bedroom windows, and their house is built on brick piers Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Finally the finished house pad - I am still shocked how level it is. Nothing worse than waiting, hope slab comes soon as it's just a wonderful feeling to finally start. Love the photos and I did know about raw but I have been thinking I was too amateurish for that but I might have a go. I am also having a DOH! moment as my computer has the SD slot too but all this time I have been hooking the cord up. Maybe I should stick with jpeg after that admission. Slab for Jen soon please Re: Mat and Jens Port Stephens Rawson Build - We have been c 89Nov 15, 2012 6:42 pm Quote: Love the photos and I did know about raw but I have been thinking I was too amateurish for that but I might have a go. Maybe I should stick with jpeg after that admission nope Tash start on RAW and put your camera on manual. Have a go, it is really quite easy when you practice. The Bryan Peterson book explains it really well. My laptop is a few years old and I didn't notice that there was an SD slot until I lost my camera lead and thought I couldn't get photos off my camera. I am blonde though, so have an excuse!!! Our camera battery was flat though and I am just too lazy to get the pics off my phone. And I definitely don't have your photographic skill! Re: Mat and Jens Port Stephens Rawson Build - We have been c 94Nov 18, 2012 6:07 am Tash - DH looked inside yesterday. Luckily it was cleanish as it hasn't been used. I am trying to discourage DH from using the trees, we don't have enough greenery around and technically we are a corner block, I don't want to shock the neighbours before we even move in... Re: Mat and Jens Port Stephens Rawson Build - We have been c 99Nov 18, 2012 6:43 pm As I work for a building company you would not believe what goes on. We have had a few toilets set on fire. The waffle pods were delivered to lay 3 slabs, they were all set on fire. A few weeks ago we had the tiler leave a house at 1pm and my boss showed up at 3, the house had been broken into (there are occupied houses on both sides) and had blue paint thrown all over the tiles and walls. All the tiles had to be removed and the place re-tiled costing $16,000. We have had plumbed in gas appliances stolen. The best was the boys stayed until 8pm one night planting about 100 plants to handover the following day. Next morning they were all gone. Neighbours had waited until they were gone and pulled them all out of the ground and taken them Modified Fernside 38 Rawson Homes Blog: http://www.thehousethatmatandjenbuilt.blogspot.com Build Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=60501 Re: Mat and Jens Port Stephens Rawson Build - We have been c 100Nov 18, 2012 9:17 pm Jen1977 Forg - I was wondering where you were. Any update? I believe we're past the 5-month mark & heading on 6 now.
