As soon as we walked in to the display home at waterford county we just wanted it! We were going for the lawson 27, but couldn't quite squeeze it on the block without a lot of piering. How has your dealings with EB and dilorenzo etc been? There was just something about it - it had a wonderful feeling that no other house had for me and I kept coming back to it. I guess that it was just a sign that it was the right house for me. I loved the layout and the fact that there was no wasted space. Mine is the 24 but with the alfresco added is a 27. I couldn't quite picture the 27 (even off the plan) I needed to see it in reality and when I was looking there was no 26 - there was only the 24 and the 27. But this house will work for me so I am happy. Quote: How has your dealings with EB and dilorenzo etc been? Lets just say that it has been a very long and frustrating year getting out of administration. And it has literally been a year - that is not just a phrase. I found that there was a ridiculous amount of delays that I could not get an explanation for but I'm trying to put that behind me now that I am FINALLY on site. How have you found the process?? It has been ok.. We have a unique situation where i had to go overseas for work (still currently), and EB etc let us do the bulk of our selections before we should have done... There have been a few issues, little fees finding their way in to pcv's etc but we have stayed on top of them... They are trying to get me to pay for NBN, but we have fibre optic estate.. So a few little battles there trying to educate them (when we shouldn't have to). But all in all, they have been very accommodating and we are pretty happy...so far... We were reasonably impressed with the selections... Plenty to choose from in their standard range so we didnt go too overboard! Just waiting for our land to settle so we can start now! It will be a relief to get home and get it sorted because my poor fiancé has been running around like a headless chook! Re: Eden Brae - My First Home The Lawson 24 25Jan 09, 2013 8:22 pm Well, the carpenters were very busy at my site today and the have the frame up. Unfortuantely the windows haven't arrived yet or they said they would have been in as well - I guess they are still on holiday. The carpentars said that the roof is going to go on this week - here's hoping that they are right. My house will have seen a very busy week. Here it is - in all its glory. Re: Eden Brae - My First Home The Lawson 24 26Jan 10, 2013 5:46 pm Well they've been busy again today and have done the first fix plumbing. The way they are going the house will be up in no time. Maybe tomorrow we'll make it 5 from 5. Re: Eden Brae - My First Home The Lawson 24 27Jan 10, 2013 6:05 pm Exciting stuff, when is the next payment due? I haven't received any paperwork yet but I'm sure it won't be too far away. The only thing that may hold them up on getting me the request/bill is that there are no windows in yet. They may have to go in before the bill can be issued. I guess I'll just have to wait and see. Re: Eden Brae - My First Home The Lawson 24 29Jan 10, 2013 8:15 pm I didn't know whether it was after frames, windows and roof... I suppose I will learn after you receive your bill. Yikes! Yikes. It adds up quickly. Re: Eden Brae - My First Home The Lawson 24 31Jan 10, 2013 9:37 pm Wow - good for you!! It arrived today even though the windows aren't in yet. So we have our answer of when the bill arrives - it doesn't wait for the roof. A pretty quiet day today. The guttering and facia arrived but hasn't gone up yet. Hopefully tomorrow or early next week. I'll just have to wait and see. It's exciting now that I can see actual progress. Re: Eden Brae - My First Home The Lawson 24 33Jan 12, 2013 9:01 am Wow! Exciting stuff on getting the bill! It's all progressing forward...can't wait to see pics with gutters, fascia and roof on next week! Yikes. It adds up quickly. Yh it sucks how your house isnt even half complete, yet they have 2/3 of the money... As long as another procorp scenario doesn't eventuate... We actually considered gojng with them also! Re: Eden Brae - My First Home The Lawson 24 35Jan 12, 2013 3:36 pm Quote: As long as another procorp scenario doesn't eventuate We all hope for that. I haven't heard anything about EBH so we should be good. (fingers crossed). Lucky you decided not to go with ProCorp - I feel sorry for all those people who have been messed up by that. I don't know what I'd do. It' a worst nightmare scenario. The windows arrived ready to go into the frame when the carpentars come back. The tiles arrived and the safety rail went up on the roof. Now all we need are the tilers and we are on our way. I spoke to the SS today and he said that bricks should be starting next week. Then it will look like a real house. Re: Eden Brae - My First Home The Lawson 24 38Jan 15, 2013 1:41 pm Wow - you are so lucky to have had so much progress. Our slab was poured the same day as yours and that is all we have still - a slab. Oh and a pile of windows but no frame. Mine obviously wanted to get back to work. There wasn't work done on any other house in the estate but mine last week. And only 1 or 2 others came back this week so far - so I guess luck is just finally turning in my favour. Re: Eden Brae - My First Home The Lawson 24 40Jan 16, 2013 12:10 pm The roof is in the process of going on as we speak. Hopefully it will be finished and I will have pictures tomorrow.
