Our land finally settled last week, we've signed our building contract and have prestart in 3 weeks. Does anyone know how much a glass splashback for the kitchen might cost? I think the area is about 2 metres long. Re: WA - New Generation Homes - Timeline pg1 - Bricking star 294Jun 19, 2013 6:32 pm Hi! Good luck with your build with New Generation. I've found them to be mostly quite on time and true to their word. If I have any advice is that you need to make sure you have everything they promise in writing and keep on top of them with regards to getting dates/times etc for work. I never asked about it as the tiles we were provided were actually quite speccy Have you considered taking tiles out from the kitchen for a credit and doing glass splash back post handover? I found that doing things afterwards saves a bit of money (in most cases) Build #2 Builder: In-Vogue Design: Custom 2 Storey Build #1 Builder: New Generation Homes Design: The Monterey My Build Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=60453 Re: WA - New Generation Homes - Timeline pg1 - Bricking star 295Jun 19, 2013 8:28 pm doing things afterwards saves a LOT of money! Nicci, how much did Home Group charge you for LED down lights? Can't understand why they don't do dimmers... I found that doing things afterwards saves a bit of money (in most cases) I got a quote from a supplier, then new gen, and I think there was a $200 difference. However new gen are putting in more than I asked (they are extending behind the rangehood). Plus i don't have to worry organising it Re: WA - New Generation Homes - Timeline pg1 - Bricking star 297Jun 19, 2013 9:44 pm hj84 jaymak Have you considered taking tiles out from the kitchen for a credit and doing glass splash back post handover? I hadn't actually thought about doing it myself, so that could be an option. Re: WA - New Generation Homes - Timeline pg1 - Bricking star 299Jun 20, 2013 10:23 am That's great, thanks for that! Re: WA - New Generation Homes - Timeline pg1 - Bricking star 300Jun 20, 2013 12:47 pm Wow hj that looks great. As I nominated my own tiler (friend) to do the work, making changes shouldn't be too hard. I'm going to ask him to buy extra tiles (or if we have any extra) and tile the rest of the kitchen stovetop area at the height of the rangehood to get a consistent look.
