Every time we're there as well there seems to be a new one. No slabs or anything in our street yet. Won't be long though I would say. I can't believe they're charging that much in that estate! That has to be good for our land values for sure. ETA: I know which one the first house is. Lovely colours. We drive through the dress circle there about every second time we are there. We also sticky beak at the houses already built though too. Re: Home in Trinity, Building with Impressions--contracts do 44Jan 28, 2013 10:45 am Good grief that price is highway robbery!! ] Don't know how anyone starting out can afford to build without being FIFO. I guess this is the backlash of a boom. Greed rules. Re: Home in Trinity, Building with Impressions--contracts do 45Jan 28, 2013 10:57 am It makes us feel better about the $220,000 we paid for our tiny block in pearsall! I worry what we would have been able to find 25minutes from the city if we had waited any longer! We also don't have the feature walls! Re: Trinity, Building with Impressions--Formal finance appro 50Feb 02, 2013 11:12 am Congratulation's on choosing to build in Trinity. I myself am going to build in Trinity. It looks like it will be a nice location. I will be posting pictures and info as I build. Re: Trinity, Building with Impressions--Formal finance appro 51Feb 02, 2013 12:36 pm Congrats on formal approval, that's the most stressful part I think. Good luck with colour choices, it is SO hard. I recommend you try to see them in real life, eg I picked Mochachoc roof tiles and thought they were brown, but in real life they kind of look grey and they are a light colour rather than a dark. Had every bit chosen before we went there armed with a print out of things you forget summary. Went thru plans changing a few minor things inside the house. theatre entry size of double swing doors. for future sliding doors. pantry to have double swing doors. small return wall that was missing in the walk in robe. tap locations. grey water access. All went well till we got to the roof. From the start of talks with the sales guy, said we want tile roof cover. He came to our house with the preliminary contract I notice colourbond on it ,he said it is only generic and we can change it. Building contract came still colour bond all over every plan, before signing said it should say tile as that's what we want. Got told we can change it at prestart and he sent a email from his phone to me saying that we can. So at pre start lady goes what colourbond colour? I say no tile colour! and told her he said we can and have a email. She said no and it is a structural change and is not allowed. Very angry chose a colour bond colour ,was hard as none match the chosen colours we have. Got home and sent of a angry email to sales guy and asked him to sort and fix the problem. Morning after sales manager calls saying it is their fault as I have said I want tile from the start . No cost to upgrade to tile but have a time set back as they need to reapply for builders license and all that goes along with 6 star . So I will get my tile roof what a relief. Back to prestart. Not too much upgrades as most of what we wanted was all ready added to the contract Awaiting costing to come back to get the shock ha-ha The electrical prestart Done with the Clipsal lady I had every thing worked out ready to go this movie comes to mind as she knew exactly what and how i want things. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ ended up $3800 on extras extra power points add up fast and the data and TV points but it has to be done I am a sparky and looked at the price of materials and it was cheaper do have it done with them. e.g. want to do 2 wall night lights in back hall for kids 3 conduits at $50=the price of 1 Clipsal light $150 fitted by them e.g. to do a light after hand over you need a conduit $50+get sparky to come out $$$$ light in prestart $45 was also not happy with the show room as it was getting renovated and we were not allowed in . every time we ask to see something had to look in a book or on internet. Should I excavate and cut all of the dirt to level with the house slab or semi-excavate as per photo above? Both left and right… 0 25249 |
