Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 15, 2012 7:39 pm Has anybody been brave enough to do so? Does anybody have any idea as to what this means: A 1.8 METER HIGH NON COMBUSTIBLE RADIANT HEAT FENCE IS TO BE INSTALLED ON THE WEST ASPECT OF THE PROPOSED DWELLING. THE BOTTOM OF THE FENCE IS TO BE IN DIRECT CONTACT WITH THE GROUND Please tell me this does not mean a colourbond fence??? Are there any alternatives that others can suggest to the dreaded colourbond in this scenario? People make one happy, not houses? I do not think so. Houses are more to be trusted than people. We will be building in a Flame zone rated bushfire prone area (the highest rating). We haven't started yet, but we have a bushfire report & recommendations. Haven't heard of a heat fence though! Colourbond might not qualify as it can warp in the heat. Depend on the rating required. What area are you in? You can hire a bushfire consultant if necessary - same people who do the report for the council. I'll be interested to see how you go.
