Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 13, 2012 5:17 pm Hi everyone, wellwe've had a big few weeks, after much sole searching we've changed builders to Redink. I have to say the experience with them so far has been amazing and such a difference from the builder we were signed up with previously, luckily they have been reasonable with us and given us the full deposit back, really had no reason not to as they had done absolutley no work (after 4 months!!). Anyway the point of my post, does anyone have any info. on pre start costs for Redink? any info would be greatly appreciated. cedes75 building with Redink Prestart 21/3/13 Slab down 12/6/13 Brickwork started 5/8/13 Brickwork finished 26/8/13 Roof frame 6/9/13 Colorbond 26/9/13 Grey float 11/10/13 white set 17/10/13 Re: Redink - pre start costs! 2Oct 13, 2012 5:34 pm Pre-start costs are "how long is a piece of string" It depends on how much you want to spend on upgrades. I spent around $8,000 with my builder because I was happy with the standard for most stuff apart from electrical. See this link for the things I spent extra on the electrical. http://www.anewhouse.com.au/?p=1133 I know someone who spent more than $100,000 with the same builder The Harder You Try - the Luckier You Get ! Re: Redink - pre start costs! 3Oct 13, 2012 5:50 pm Hi Cedes75, We are currently building with Redink... who I must say have been fantastic from day 1... we are now about 5 weeks away from handover ;) We spent all up about $35,000 extra at prestart... If you pm your email address i can forward our whole variation list Whereabouts are you building NOR or SOR Re: Redink - pre start costs! 4Oct 13, 2012 6:21 pm hi cedes, congrats on building with Redink...we are also building with them and they have been brilliant, im about 2 weeks behind mary. the most frustrating part is the paperwork stage which took about 5 months, and of course as you cant see anything going on, it feels like its never going to happen. but our clo was great and was always prompt to answer any emails i sent. as bash said re prestart costs, it will vary depending on what you want to upgrade. but redinks upgrade prices for most things i think is quite reasonable. your big things will be adding extra electrics [ie gpo, lights, data cabling etc], if you choose out of standard range formica, tiles. we did pre-start back in may, so not sure the prices will be exactly the same, but even if they have changed i wouldnt think there would be alot of difference. cant remember how much we spent at pre-start, but it wasnt over $6000. when we first met with sales guy, we managed to get a few inclusions that wouldve cost us at pre-start. i cant fault redink and their service. its pretty exciting We've had the offer of a short term tenant whilst waiting for CDC/DA home approval and demolition for our knock down rebuild. It would achieve a pretty low rent as it's… 0 9926 The fastest thing a builder will do is bank your cheque, those systems work perfectly with lightning speed, everything else is slow burn.
