It's all coming together. Re: SA build - more pictures added - I'm so excited 66Mar 13, 2013 11:15 am Hey looks awsome!!!!!! Just wondering if there is anything special about the alfresco kitchen? I was told that ours needed to be super dooper water tight. But our area is as exposed as yours. Any more pics. Feed us pic piggies.lol Forrester 43sq We have our keys (3/6/11) Now it's time to decorate (that's the fun part.lol) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=37598 Re: SA build - more pictures added - I'm so excited 68Mar 13, 2013 10:50 pm Rudolf I know some of the kitchen is marine grade stuff, not sure if it is just the kicker however. It was decided that as our kitchen is covered by almost 3 walls it wouldn't be exposed to the elements as much OMG I want to take some more pictures but we only go out to the site on fridays so I don't have anymore at the moment. I am wondering when the bench tops for the joinery will arrive but I guess that will be one of the last things as I would hate for that to be damaged Re: SA build - more pictures added - I'm so excited 69Mar 16, 2013 9:20 am So I am disappointed. 2 weeks ago we were told 5 weeks to completion. Yesterday we were told it will be 7 weeks. So how does that work? Flooring is going in before Easter so how is it that the house will then take another month to finish?? Needless to say I am less than impressed and when I mentioned it to the builders DH got cranky with me. I just don't understand how in 2 weeks you can get 4/5 weeks behind and yet tell us everything is on track. Anyway, we've been doing this process since the beginning of July last year so I just have to find a way to suck it up. Re: SA build - we've been told 3 + 4 more weeks to go 70Mar 16, 2013 12:31 pm Oh no, that is certainly disappointing. Sounds like the builder miscalculated or is buying more time just in case. I hope he has miscalculated again and that you'll be in earlier than 7 weeks. We built the Wisdom Majestic 40 - moved in! I designed it myself, not that it is particularly innovative but for us it has just the right amount of glass. I do worry with the doors that have too much glass that the neighbours will get a great view of any nudie runs in the house. Re: SA build - we've been told 3 + 4 more weeks to go 74Apr 05, 2013 10:07 pm Ok so it has been a couple of weeks since I've updated. We are still building our house and we can only hope we are finished by May. Picture time I thought I would post this to give an indication of the slope our land is on. This was taken from our back fence, however after our fence there is another 6 metres of land that is ours, unfortunately there isn't much we can do with it given the size of the retaining walls we would need to make it usable. http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff138/pgesyq/578-1_zps4f88c241.jpg Front side retaining plus some paving http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff138/pgesyq/610_zps17e9da85.jpg Front rock retaining (just a portion of it here) it does taper down to nothing as it gets towards the garage http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff138/pgesyq/611_zps00f39cf0.jpg Some front paving - this is an older photo, it has now been finished and has the rock wall http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff138/pgesyq/587-1_zpsad322825.jpg lights in up stairwell http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff138/pgesyq/624_zpsd27ef43c.jpg down stair well under stair storage http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff138/pgesyq/625_zps655c598c.jpg down stairs with bamboo Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ study nook Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ from laundry looking at study nook http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff138/pgesyq/670_zps8b20582f.jpg http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff138/pgesyq/671_zps25d1773d.jpg outdoor kitchen with smartstone benchtop http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff138/pgesyq/663_zpsacdc0c2a.jpg http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff138/pgesyq/662_zps9f9e5e6e.jpg family shower http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff138/pgesyq/673_zpscb29333c.jpg more bamboo flooring on ground level http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff138/pgesyq/680_zpsa3a451b6.jpg this photo shows a little of the rock wall http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff138/pgesyq/681_zps4486ae35.jpg Re: SA build picture overload 76Apr 05, 2013 10:55 pm Bamboo flooring looks great!!! Thanks 1rocky we love the outdoor kitchen as well, although we were a little underwhelmed with the benchtop, but hopefully once the rangehood and bbq plus painting has been done it will look much better. AmyMumma23 the flooring is 'coffee' colour or some places call is carbonised I believe. Re: SA build picture overload 80Apr 06, 2013 11:33 am Looks fantastic! You need to have warning signs for guests...imagine a party and someone sneaks out for a quick wee in the garden, never to be see again LOL 8 6164 Hi, we live in an area where the black soil is prone to a lot of movement. We have an old 50's house with masonite everywhere and nails popping out, warping, rusted etc.… 0 4517 No the fireplace doesn’t work. It’s been enclosed. I’m not sure what was removed, as it was done quite some time ago - well before what I can see with photos online… 2 11611 |
