I was saying to my brothers gf when time comes do not spend all that money on one day, use it for your future! Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - random question :) 1583Jan 22, 2014 11:15 pm Leanne: nice to know its not just me being 'old' I'm hoping to spend under $10,000 and that includes everything including this small wedding and our party in October Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - random question :) 1584Jan 22, 2014 11:51 pm Congratulations on your coming wedding. Sounds like you will have a fabulous wedding. I agree you do not have to spend heaps of money to have a wonderful wedding.. So many people I know have said that it was a lot of money for one day, and though they don't regret it I think the ideas of what else they could have spent that money on haunts them. I used to work at a wedding function centre while at uni ... The amt of money charged was exorbitant for what you got back ie: $400 for ONE platter of deep fried spring rolls which cost all of $10 haha. Not even joking though. I wouldn't mind as much if you got what you paid for, but too often it's just such a money extracting exercise for seemingly little in return. Goodluck - sounds awesome and I'm sure you'll have the best day! Our small build (NOR WA) - random question :) 1586Jan 23, 2014 12:25 am Okay now I'm starting to feel old lol I've been to so many big Italian weddings at some of the fancy hotels and reception centres around Perth that cost $$$$ so overrated and I can't say that even one had the most amazing food..I did the big hotel thing with the big fancy dress the first time around such a waste of $$$ second time around we had guests donate the limos, guests taking the photos, video and mum made our wedding cake and we had the most amazing food at the cheapest reception centre we could find and everyone had an awesome time. Our whole wedding with over 100 guests cost well under $5000 the last wedding I went to would of cost well over $20000 Design by Greater Concept - modified version Evolution Court Build by Premiere Homes My build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64854 Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - random question :) 1587Feb 28, 2014 12:17 am So I've been reading a lot but have been busy working two jobs and planning a wedding so haven't had much spare time!! For those interested the wedding is Saturday! Give me a few more hours and stress get set in! But also thought I'd update build wise. We are in the process of 6 months maintenance. Our list was a page long! I have to say I was impressed by the guy who came out. We ended up with 28 things to rectify, mainly minor but two we had no idea about and only found out by accident!! The exhaust in our ensuite toilet isn't flumed even though it's a requirement!! And the flume on the other WC isn't attached properly as a beam is in the wrong spot!! Only found out as the maintenance inspector turned the ensuite toilet light on to check a crack and thought he fan was loud, on removing the cover realised it wasn't flumed and got in the roof!! I am now a big believer in independent inspectors as if we'd had one we would have known this 6 months ago!! They have agreed it needs rectifying so I'm not too worried. Only negative was I still got a no go on the writing on my essa stone bench, I'm going to check the Ventura display n Landsdale to see their bench and make a decision form there. So excited about everyone's builds, I will catch up one day Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - random question :) 1589Feb 28, 2014 11:27 am fmac So I've been reading a lot but have been busy working two jobs and planning a wedding so haven't had much spare time!! Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - random question :) 1590Feb 28, 2014 6:17 pm im sure you will be fine, I was the most relaxed on the day and everyone was stressing around me, I just thought what was meant to be, would be and that I had no control over the day and to just accept what would be, and it was the most amazing day I could have hoped for everything went just as it was planned, family were even on their best manners lol wishing you both all the best for tomorrow and all the happiness for your future as HUSBAND & WIFE. I love you you did with your plan and kitchen layout! I'd kill for your WIP! You made it so much more practical then the base plan!! From experience I can say if you only have a standard shower now you'll love your double. You don't feel like your smashing into a shower screen! Thanks for the feedback, were really happy with the outcome. As always there are a few 'we'd do that differently next time' but I think on the whole we ended up with a lot of house for what we had to work with Any wedding plans yet?
