Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - PCI booked 2/8 1021Jul 25, 2013 10:41 am I checked the model number on the website last night and it says it isn't cool touch glass also doesn't have telescopic rails like all the paperwork we had said... I'm thinking someone stuffed up with the description but I don't know where we stand. They've installed the model on our paperwork but that model doesn't appear to do what was stated in the paperwork they gave us.... Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - PCI booked 2/8 1022Jul 25, 2013 11:05 am I you've got paperwork stating the description surely that's enough? Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - PCI booked 2/8 1023Jul 25, 2013 2:28 pm If you bought an oven from a shop that said it had those things and it didn't then you would be entitled to a refund or replacement so surely if you paperwork says the oven includes those things then surely they have to replace it with one that does, or provide some kind of reimbursement. Was that description on the paperwork you received prior to prestart? If so then you could argue as the description had that then you didn't feel the need to upgrade. If the description had have been correct you would have enquiries about upgrading. You haven't received what was specified on the paperwork therefore they haven't completed their contract. But builders are not the most logical when it comes to this.... Jen Building with HomeGroupWA (started as Scott Park Homes ) - Grand Wisteria Check out my Build Thread!! Time line on P1. Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - PCI booked 2/8 1024Jul 25, 2013 2:37 pm Yeah it's in the prestart file. It says it in two different places about the oven. So ill have to see what they say. I know with the cooktop on one it said enamel trivits the other said cast iron so we asked which it was. I have a feeling ill be in for a fight but I agree its like if you bought anything with one description and when you got it it didn't do it! Ill let you all know what happens If this process has taught me nothing it's that builders do not always do what most would consider common sense Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - PCI booked 2/8 1025Jul 25, 2013 5:40 pm fmac PCI has been booked for next Friday 2/8. That's 18 weeks and 2 days since the slab went down!! Much quicker then we had anticipated!! I completely missed this!! Congratulations, it's excellent news In regards to the oven, I agree with the others that you should definitely question it. If the paperwork in your prestart file indicated that the oven was standard then that is what you should have got and if not then it should have been explained to you at some point that it was an upgrade. So I've been doing some house shopping. We had seen this clock at a store we were at but when we went back it was gone. Saw it online for $35 less then in store. The picture doesn't do it justice. Also bought some new towels Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - PCI booked 2/8 1027Jul 26, 2013 12:07 am Ooh love the clock, very cool! Our home building & decorating blog - http://www.rocknsoul.com.au/blog Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - PCI booked 2/8 1028Jul 26, 2013 12:10 am Goes with our current black, cream and red colour scheme and our future plan of grey and blues/teal/turquoise might be a while before we can afford to change everything over. Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - PCI booked 2/8 1029Jul 26, 2013 12:15 am Everything is looking so good!! Congrats on pci date - wow! It seems to have flown by oh and awesome clock My Build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64881 Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - PCI booked 2/8 1030Jul 26, 2013 7:03 am Grrr I missed your updates again. I think I overload this site with update requests haha, had no idea your floor is already down. The colour of Karndean you've chosen is so warm is lovely fmac and really highlights your kitchen. Our installer told me the other day they are relatively easy to remove and replace too if there is any damaged ones. Did you notice a lot of glue marks and will the builders cleaners remove those before you move in? Wouldn't that be a great bonus . That's one awesome clock fmac. Do you know the exact size of it? Love the colours and rustic style. Congrats on PCI too, such a quick build, lucky you. You've had a great experience haven't you. Full marks to Aussie. Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - PCI booked 2/8 1032Jul 26, 2013 8:34 pm Well I went to look today, more to make sure there was no damage, and the sink is in!! Now for the tap and the list o our standing things is now very short! The carpet is a very dark grey, it is from Trevor's, the colour is jaguar. It was in the range just above what our builder included as standard. Though walking on it I wish I'd looked into the types of underlay a little more! Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - PCI booked 2/8 1033Jul 26, 2013 8:36 pm Why? Hard under foot, or too soft?? Can there be too soft...... Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - PCI booked 2/8 1034Jul 26, 2013 8:42 pm Too hard. I don't think carpet can ever be too soft Though I had shoes on so we shall see when I can walk on in bare feet!! And it is still 200 times better then the sandpaper that was in the builder standard range that was going to be stuck down! No underlay at all! We only included the basic underlay, better then nothing and it will be one of those things that won't be too expensive to replace in a few years... Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - PCI booked 2/8 1035Jul 26, 2013 8:44 pm We only included the basic underlay, better then nothing and it will be one of those things that won't be too expensive to replace in a few years... Yep, when you get some money back in the account Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - PCI booked 2/8 1036Jul 26, 2013 8:57 pm I wonder if that will ever happen The carpet is only in the bedrooms so much preferred spending the money on my kitchen where I will be spending a lot of my time!! Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - PCI booked 2/8 1037Jul 26, 2013 9:46 pm Looking absolutely Fab! And I love the clock ....I need to start learning to shop Online (have to ask DH for lessons, when he's not online we reckon the economy of a small village in China collapses) lol <!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href="https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=62083">viewtopic.php?t=62083</a><!-- l --> Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - PCI booked 2/8 1039Jul 28, 2013 12:06 pm Nice clock and congrats on PCI - woohoo!! regarding the oven - I have learn't that it doesn't matter what is on Pre-Start - it is the Addendum and final contract that stand. Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - PCI booked 2/8 1040Jul 28, 2013 12:41 pm Donna yeah I have a feeling they won't care. I am going to email my CL and ask, they did come to the table with the handles on the draws but I have a feeling the oven will be a different story! I think it's partly a matter of principle, it goes way back to our issue in the begining over the render on the house. They said the oven included did something and it clearly doesn't. But I have a feeling you are right and they will just say tough! Have you had something similar happen?! Joe, it depends on your certifier but we are noticing the ones we deal with are really cracking down.
