I left a metal cup cake tray on our bench over night and it must have been a little wet as its left rust marks on my beautiful white stone! have tried cleaning with my all purpose cleaner and while its made it a little better its still there. If anyone has any advice I'd be very thankful! I knew we should have got black! Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - First accident :( 1444Oct 09, 2013 11:08 pm I think someone mentioned Gumption in another thread on here.....my worst nightmare is my white essastone being stained Our RedInk Build Thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64118&p=1004131#p1004131 ** Timeline Page 1 Moved In - 19.12.13 Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - First accident :( 1445Oct 09, 2013 11:12 pm a link to a thread that might be helpful viewtopic.php?f=16&t=42302 hope it helps and hope you can get the stains out building thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65845 Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - First accident :( 1446Oct 09, 2013 11:13 pm Googled their care info and my next try will be window cleaner and then I think I might have to try gumption. I can't believe I managed to do it in under a month Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - First accident :( 1447Oct 09, 2013 11:19 pm Oh no! Now I'm worried about our white stone, will getting it sealed prevent staining? Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - First accident :( 1448Oct 09, 2013 11:21 pm I thought they are non porous, why would it stain
Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - First accident :( 1449Oct 09, 2013 11:40 pm I did leave the tray overnight. Most has come out with normal cleaner but its still got a very little bit of colour.... Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - First accident :( 1450Oct 09, 2013 11:41 pm Bicarbonate soda and vinegar usually works on most things. I also heard that cream of tartar and lemon juice removes stains. But I've never had stone bench tops before so not sure what you are allowed to use and what you should never use. But if it was me I'd try the company that makes the stone and check what you are allowed to use and what they recommend . Then I'd try a spot test of these two products before I'd try gumption. Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - First accident :( 1452Oct 10, 2013 2:38 pm Do you know anyone with enjo stuff? It's actually a lot better than you would think at removing marks and they sell something called marble paste which is a bit more gentle then gumption. I've used it on my corian bench and also on my glass oven with no scratches and the sink and it's comes up perfectly every time! I got a mark on the corian from rubber feet on a container that wouldn't budge with wiping or cleaner and with a bit of the marble paste and enjo cloth it just came out. Corian says to use gumption though so not sure if it's ok on essa I have converted our whole house to enjo prods and haven't found a stain I couldn't remove. Srsly impressed lol (and I don't actually sell it) Jen Building with HomeGroupWA (started as Scott Park Homes ) - Grand Wisteria Check out my Build Thread!! Time line on P1. Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - First accident :( 1453Oct 10, 2013 2:51 pm I've used gumption a couple times on mine and it's fine. We keep getting dark scratches around the edge of our bench which we have worked out is the metal stud thing on the waist of jeans rubbing on there when prepping food, doing dishes etc...the gumption works a treat. Should be fine for a one off My Thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=63545 Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - First accident :( 1454Oct 10, 2013 2:56 pm Enelya I actually have enjo products. I love them! They've been in a box for over a year as we had a cleaner come once a fortnight at our rental and they bought all their own stuff, but given it up to own our own home I went looking for the marble paste last night but can't find it but hearing this I will give it a go when I find it!! I can only find the liquid one for calcium build up. I love my mop for our living area just have to buy the one for 'dusting' the floor, previously I only needed the mop for a small area Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - First accident :( 1455Oct 10, 2013 7:41 pm fmac I can see it but it isn't so bad that I think anyone else would even notice it I'm planning to avoid gumption as it is an abrasive and I'm afraid it would ruin the nice shine. I just removed a mark from a laminex top today and it has dulled the shine...I wouldn't try it on your lovely stone!!! Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - First accident :( 1456Oct 10, 2013 7:42 pm I used the marble paste to clean the grout in my old place a couple of times...did a great job When I ran out I used bi-card soda and vinegar and it did a very similar job...you just mix a little bit together into a paste and then use a damp cloth If you can't find your marble paste you should find bi-carb soda and vinegar will do a similar job Nothing against the marble paste...I love enjo but if you can't find it try plan B Design by Greater Concept - modified version Evolution Court Build by Premiere Homes My build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64854 Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - First accident :( 1457Oct 10, 2013 8:58 pm I had bicarb but not vinegar so did bicarb and lemon I can now only see it because I know where it was, it is really light and I can hardly see it. Seems the marble paste is at my moms so going to get it tomorrow and see how that goes Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - First accident :( 1458Oct 10, 2013 10:04 pm Vinegar is the secret ingredient at least it's getting better Design by Greater Concept - modified version Evolution Court Build by Premiere Homes My build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64854 Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - First accident :( 1459Oct 10, 2013 10:06 pm I sometimes think they need to add a 'like' button to this forum, then I start to think I spend too much time on Facebook Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - First accident :( 1460Oct 11, 2013 9:54 am i frequently go looking for it and then remember its not facebook!
