Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building with Coral Homes - Toowoomba - *Painting starte 101Jan 23, 2013 12:54 pm Haven't posted here for a bit, some Updates: - Painters are taking longer than expected to finish the inside, they are supposed to be moving outside today so the electricians can get in and install the lights. It's just touchups and gloss-work to be finished off inside. Gotta say though - love the grey pebble! Was worried that it wouldn't be "grey enough", but it's worked out find - Tilers are due to start the main flooring on Friday - now this I'm nervous about not really sure what the colour of the tiles is going to look like with the paint lol - the supervisor said that everything should be finished by next Friday! They will allow two weeks to get any issues fixed up, and our bank to get organized (they'll need all the time they can get.. Lol) - handover should be the 15th if not earlier : (so the SS says) The timber stacker issue continues - we've accepted that nothing's going to be done, but the supervisor is still trying to work around it, weather that be a partial refund or some other way of screening, I'm not sure, he' just said he's trying to work something out lol I'll try and post some pics soon Building our first home - Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=60033 Re: Building with Coral Homes - Toowoomba - *Painting starte 102Jan 23, 2013 7:39 pm Oh pics would be good! I can't believe you are nearly finished, how bloody exciting. A little disappointing about the stacker doors, but at least you are being realistic about it and not making them pull them down haha! 1st build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=59376 *New*-2nd build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70324&p=1154282#p1154282 Re: Building with Coral Homes - Toowoomba - *Painting starte 103Jan 27, 2013 7:11 pm A partial refund would be nice but I know you really just would have liked it to be the way you wanted it from the start, once you have a vision or idea of how something will be it's hard not to still want that. I bet there will be some type of solution to it. Glad you love your paint, cause I hate mine! Haha yes I feel all those emotions about it. I think you will have no worry with your tiles matching your paint, actually will have to go back and see what colour tile you picked but I know the pebble grey goes with a wide variety of other shades. So bloody excited to hear you will have handover soon. Hey how about the rain and the wind for that matter? Crazy. Pleased to report we now have a full 22,500L tank The land held out very well, considering there's lots of dirt still to be pushed back. At the moment it did create a big puddle towards the back. While we were there, we saw lots of muddy childrens foot prints on the alfresco slab. Also looks like they wiped their muddy feet on the bricks too Yeah it would have been nice for the doors to just be put in the way they were supposed to, but Coral have admitted that what we were told in sales, and what we were given were incorrect, so at least they are trying Building our first home - Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=60033 Re: Building with Coral Homes - Toowoomba - *Paint pics!* 105Jan 29, 2013 11:18 am Your house is looking beautiful reindeer! The cleaners were there cleaning the slab, ready for the carpet tomorrow. I also heard them complaining to the supervisor on the phone that the tilers hadn't finished grouting lol Apparently they will be coming to do that later today. So hopefully fly screens, carpets and maybe our kitchen splashback and shower screens to be installed tomorrow! I sort of wish I went the whole room, like I had planned. Oh well Thanks Jen! I was so worried about how the tiles were going to look with the grey pebble, but it seemed to come out look nice. Looks even better with the grouting The deck was started yesterday, and I'll be leaving shortly to go check it out again The carpenter reckons it should be done by the end of the day! I've got heaps more pics - just need to find the time to post them... I'd love to see that Building our first home - Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=60033 Re: Building with Coral Homes - Toowoomba - *Paint pics!* 114Feb 05, 2013 7:44 pm Oh - I think I might have to get that! How nice is the wallpaper in the photo too Jen..... love that! Always had a thing about wallpaper though - Just not confident in it yet, I think it must be my younger days in the UK with Wallpapered walls (even the bathrooms) partnered with carpet.... Yes our bathrooms were carpeted too.... amazing Wallpaper everywhere Anyway, I love that colour and I think as we have a dedicated home theatre room the darker the better. We will have white shutters and the white trim I think will look good. I think you're supposed to alos paint the back of the doors and the ceiling too.... I just can't imagine that though. Thanks for sharing - It's great. From what I've seen you're house is looking beautiful - you have nothing to worry about!! Lilac- Thank you so much They picked up lots of things that we never saw. Infact, he's making the tilers re-do the showers as when you stand up on a ladder there's no glue for about half way down the tile. the SS said it looks like they layed the tiles out wrong, and then tried to cover it up which has now made the ensuite tiling uneven. The splashback colour is Dulux Mt Eden Building our first home - Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=60033 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption.
